Sony code giving me problem - please help

First -thanks to the several people who have already made suggestions!

I cant seem to find the correct data for my Sony RCVR. I am trying to find the correct EFC for 'Bass Boost' to clean up my learned functions so that i can go forward with the extender.

my 9910 has, and recognizes, 1058 as a device code but not 1059. it seems that 1058 doesnt have a 'Bass boost' while 1059 does.

I found some 1059 device upgrades - but some of them do not include bass boost. i have tried them anyway. I have tried to load the 1059 upgrades and 1058/1059 upgrades that have 'Bass boost' but i cannot get a response from my RCVR. (I have tried EFCs 046 and 038 among others.)

I would appreciate if someone could tell me what i must do and point me in the right direction from here

The command you want is Sony12:12:49. Audio/1058 uses a Sony Combo protocol so you need to do a keymove, select hex not EFC, and enter 8C 30 (1 space between the hex bytes.)

It's not as hard as it looks. The second byte is device and the first byte is OBC. However Sony like many IR protocols transmits the bits backwards. So here is the thought progression:

Decimal
---49---------12
Binary
00110001 00001100

10001100 00110000 reverse the order of the bits
Hex
--8C--------30

You can also use the EFC calculator in IR. Enter in OBC (LSB) 49 and then 12 and look at the hex values.
