Windows 10 Delcom Driver Error

Post by ronmon »

Since updating to Windows 10, IR has not worked. I get a 'Delcom USB Error: Unable to find Delcom device driver' error.

I downloaded the Wdp64bit driver, and followed the installation instruction (I believe), but when I browse to the Wdp64bit folder, I get 'Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error attempting to install then. ... Delcom Proxy ... A problem was encountered while attempting to add the driver to the store'

My PC is a Lenovo Windows 10 Home OS, Intel i7 CPU, 64-bit OS, x64 based processor.

I've been using an older laptop for IR, but it would be nice to have it working on my 'newer' machines. Any Ideas?

Should this be a sticky somewhere?

EDIT:
Yes this should be posted somewhere, because the instructions moved!

Here is a write-up of the procedure with screen shots.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.
