AHHH -- this behavior is not what i expected either. I actually have one learned signal that doesnt translate to an EFC or OBC - i think it does have a hex. it is for 'bass boost' on a sony reciever. how can i deal with this in a keymove - is the hex enough?

thanks!

If the EFC from a decode is missing or wrong then the hex from the decode is useless.

For Sony, you may be better off looking for any tricky commands on RHM's web pages rather than trying to figure them out from your own learned signals:

If you do need to get data from any learned signal that doesn't give a correct and understandable decode:
1) Relearn it more carefully and see if it gets better.
if not
2) Use IR.EXE's file/save command to save the eeprom image containing that signal.
3) Upload that file to the Yahoo JP1 diagnosis folder
4) Post the URL for that file in the thread here where you ask about the problem.

If you re-learn it you will probably get the info you need, but like John said, RobH has a remarkable Sony database on his site. he shows bass boost as being OBC 49 with device code 12.

You could program that as a keymove using EFC 046 with Audio/0159.
