Hi,

I learned most (95%) of my Yamaha TX-A850 remote (RAV541), some wouldn't be captured by my ARRX18G even after several attempts.

I'm willing to make a file so others can use it. Do I really need to hand type everything over, or is there a easier way.
I tried the automatic proces but that doesn't work.

I first tried several Upgrade Files, A3000,
RX-V567, Yamaha RX-V671 they didn't work.

I also noticed a master list of Yamaha codes in the forum, It's a big spreadsheet how does one convert this to a upgrade file?

Thanks for reading
Guy

Each remote has a limited amount of learning memory, so it's not typically possible to learn all of the buttons in one go, so what we do is, learn as many as we can and then download the memory (ie, save your RMIR file), then clear the remote and start over to capture the rest. Then once you've got all of them captured, you can transpose the data to an upgrade file.

You don't have to re-type everything, but there isn't a clean-cut way of doing it. If the automated process doesn't work (and it is hit-or-miss), we typically cut and paste the data from the code tab over to a spreadsheet and then paste it back into RM.

We can probably do it a lot faster than you, so if you just post your rmir files into the Diagnosis Area folder in the file section, then post links to them here, we'll do the rest. When you don't learn buttons to the right button on the remote (eg, you learn HOME to the MENU button), type in a note on the rmir file to say what the button really is, so we can list the right function in the upgrade file.

Try this:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=13141

Nevo has megs of memory for hundreds, possibly thousands of learns.

Hi There,

I have added a file in the diagnosis area.

The soft labeling is wrong I don't know to how far I can go here.
I also skipped the 2 buttom rows of the remote because the ARRX18G won't learn them image of remote

If you like I do later on zone 2

Kind Regards
Guy

I don't know what an .ods file is so I don't know how to open it. I was hoping that you would load your .rmir file.

Did the file I linked not work at all. There's no reason it shouldn't.

In any case, I converted that open office document to an excel file and replaced it, so you can try again. It's just a spreadsheet that looks like it may have originally come from us or yamaha with obc's, no learns at all. Already matches several of our upgrades, as I suspected.

Hi,
.ods is libreoffice but i changed it to .txt file same link above.

I also have a Panasonic Blue Ray DMP-BDT167 file posted here it's a xslx file

The file that Dave pointed me to was also something that I tried, If I remember it did work partially. I try again later.
Where did you place that file Dave?
I have a older remote control from my old Yamaha DSP-AZ1 amp, but that does only works partially.

I have a file that comes from a Belgian cable box (Telenet ), I again learned all the buttons, but luckily this time I could use the automatic conversion.
Do you want me to post that somewhere?

Thanks for all the hard work.

All Panasonic Bluray use the same codes. Pick any one.

That zip file contains a great master file spreadsheet, but the upgrade files are KM format and I just noticed that RM doesn't import them properly (it drops the Y1 part), so many of the buttons wouldn't work if loaded via RM.

So, I have created a new RM file with the correct Y1 settings, which should work:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=14554

The only new button that was captured from the Yamaha TX-A850 remote was the Bluetooth input button, so I would like to see the code captured from Zone 2 also.

Forssux, here is a spreadsheet comparing your captures with the master file and the remote image:

Hi There,

I uploaded several rmir files here
RX-A850 Zone1
RX-A850 Zone2
DC-AD2200 Cable Box used by Telenet
Panasonic DMP-BDT167

Was it a good idea to name the keys Phantom?
Now I can start the hunt for discrete codes for "power on" and "power of"

Thanks again for helping
Guy

The main button code that I was looking for from the zone2 file wasn't in there, does the Bluetooth input work in Zone2 mode?

Hi There,

Here's the rmdu file for the RX-A850 Zone 1

Here's the rmir file with bluetooth for the RX-A850 zone2

I also made a rmdu for the Panasonic Blue Ray that's here.

I had a problem with the Device, it entered 127.255 or 122.133 is that a problem?

Kind regards
Guy
