Need iview HD slingplayer bin files

Post by myjess »

Hi,

Has anyone got iview HD bin files for slingplayer. iview2000STB and iview 3500 nearly work, with a few buttons doing something but not what they are supposed to do.

Thanks.

Be a lot more specific. Which buttons work and which don't ?

has anyone developed a raspberry pi program to read and then to produce the needed bin file. As to what works and what doesn't, I will test over weekend and reply.
Thanks.

Not sure what Pi has to do with anything, but we've had 100% functional iView files for years. I made a couple of them myself, so I know they're error free.

We have a duplicate thread running on the Sling support forum. Can we stick with just one of them ? Don't mind which.

I vote for this thread.

Myjess,

As I said earlier, we already have all the codes you need. Alan and others made the files years ago. We don't need a Pi or any other hardware.

You can certainly accomplish your goal with IRWidget and IRScope, but that would be the most expensive, least efficient solution in your case.

Rather that searching for more complex solutions to a problem that has already been solved, just tell us exactly what isn't working for you.

Sorry guys, I downloaded the iview 2000 and iview 3500 files, but I cannot get either of them to do anything now.

Here's the remote and the unit itself if it helps.

I bought it from here:

I would like to try to make a remote myself so if you guys can point me to the PC hardware in the UK, and the links to the software, I would be most grateful.

Thanks.

OK, the instructions are well out-of-date so try these http://www.rmrsoft.com/how_to_install_a ... ngbox.html

and if you want to do it yourself check out: http://www.hifi-remote.com/wiki/index.p ... r_Slingbox

Sorry, I assumed you had an iView 2000 or 3500. I have no idea what codes your box uses. You may very well need to learn the codes and acquire some hardware to do so. A SimpleSet remote would be the cheapest and easiest solution.

Thanks again
If sling had fixed the firmware inthe old European Pro box, I wouldn't have to go to all this trouble, but as it is, the firmware doesn't like some of the UK freeview channel names and crashes the box when scanning the freeview channels.
There's no chance getting sling to do anything with that firmware now cos they've even ceased production of all sling hardware, so I read.

Can I compile one of those existing iview rmdu files as another number in case C2010 is not being uploaded and thats why I cannot gey them to work anymore?

Yes, but make sure it is above 2000. But it will make absolutely no difference.

You don't appear to have read the installation instructions I spent a lot of time on. Could you do that please.

I do not know why you would think that, but I will tray again.
If there was anyone in the UK that could read the remote codes, I would consider "donating" one of these iviews direct from ebay. The cost would be as much as it would cost me to buy a remote control and cable to see if I could do it myself.
Thanks.

Does this help at all.
I downloaded the augustint DVB400 rmdu file and compiled it as C2011.
None of the other buttons do anything, but I see these functions:

SlingRemote = ActualRemote

Power = yellow Aspect
Play = Channel up
Stop=Subtitle
step back =number 6
pause = number 5
Step forward = 9pic
Record=Record
Menu=Number 0
LeftArrow=Number 8
RightArrow=VFormat
Page -(minus)=Record#
Red Button=Number 1
Green Button=Number 4
Yellow Button=VolUp
Number1=PVRList
Number4=Number 7
Number7=ProgamGuide
Number9=Menu

Thanks again.
