The signals of the enclosed Lirc file do not look sensible to me. Have you verified that they are working? They look like NEC1-signals, but with the leadin removed. How did you get them?

That is not a very useful statement. Exactly what did you do; did it succeed or not? Anthing that can be made better?

Hi Barf,

I am newbie to these. Thanks for the information.
I was given the Lirc file by internal team and was told that it did work fine on testing.

Though to avoid confusion, I have used the Ir-signal-database utlity and the redrat to feed all the remote keys and export it as a LIRC.

I have also checked the output of the recorded keys through red rat on the STB and it works equivalent to remote hardware.

Here is the LIRC config file generated

Hi Barf,

I am able to use the IpScrutinizer and generate the .rmdu file.
Installed the Remote master. On trying to open the rmdu file, I don't see the funtion tab having the .rmdu imported. Am i missing something?

Regards,
Jojo

Does Remotemaster's protocols.ini contain the protocol ImportOnly?

Otherwise just attach ImportOnly.protocols.ini (from IrScrutinizer) to the end of protocols.ini.

Hi Barf,

I was wondering if i should choose import all or import all/raw from ir scrutinizer. Also should i choose export param.remote or export param.raw in the export tab.

Regards,
Jojo

You should always use the parametric form, unless it does not work. So,

"import all" (implicit: as parametrized) on the import; "export param. remote" on the export.

Hi Barf,

I did attach ImportOnly.protocols.ini (from IrScrutinizer) to the end of protocols.ini and did see the function tab on RemoteMaster.
I was unable to export it as a .bin file because the protocol was "ImportOnly" and hence export tab didn't get highlighted.

I manually edit the .rmdu file to have protocol as 00 5a and protocol.name as NEC2 and was able to generate a .bin file. Is this correct?

When I try to insert any custom binary into a m1 slingbox software, it doesnot show the continue button. If it does show the continue button, it doesnot proceed to next stage but throws up error "Invalid custom bin file". Am I missing something?

Regards,
Jojo

After having imported the file in RM, you select, in RM, a sensible executor, like NEC1 or a combo executor. Then select the target remote ("Slingbox with ***"), and assign the contained functions to keys. Then you should be able to save using Advanced -> Export binary upgrade. See this guide.

After opening the rmdu file in RM and changing to NEC2, the function tab has same values for all keys. OBC values for all keys are 0. I have even set to preserve OBC and function parameters. Anything missed here?

Something must have gone wrong here. The first lirc file is not usable, the second one is. You should have a rmdu file like this:

Code:

# This file was created by IrScrutinizer.
# It is not directly usable in RemoteMaster. For this, make sure that
# protocols.ini contains the "protocol" ImportOnly. Also, check
# Options -> "Allow preserve Control", and then select
# "Preserve: OBC and function parameters" on the "Setup" pane.
# Then open this file with RemoteMaster, and select a sensible executor
# (called protocol in RemoteMaster).
#
# Original protocol: nec2
#

[quote="Barf"]Something must have gone wrong here. The first lirc file is not usable, the second one is. You should have a rmdu file like this:

The file that I generated from IrScrutinizer is exactly the same.

After this I get stuck here:
After opening the rmdu file in RM and changing to NEC2, the function tab has same values for all keys. OBC values for all keys are 0. I have even set to preserve OBC and function parameters.

Please check before changing protocol.

What version of RM are you using? Make sure you are using the current version. If it still is not working, upload rmaster.err to the diagnostic area.

Hi Barf,

I am using 2.04build1

After using file-> open in remotemaster to open the rmdu file.
Before changing the protocol, The function tab happens to get correct values.

After changing the protocol to NEC2, I find function tab has same values for all keys.

Are you able to see this issue? I hope the steps followed by me is correct.

Regards,
Jojo

Hmm something looks wrong with your file.

Protocol 99 99
Protocol Import only.

I had decoded this by hand, but wasn't sure I was right, I'm kind of imprecise. I've uploaded mine to the diagnosis area.

What kind of device is the NBC box?

We have a lot of Nec1 1.253 upgrades in the file section, and most of the slingbox need the Sling non repeating version of the Nec protocol.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.
