This a cheap remote which works very well bought via Ebay. Eventghost recognises it as a PHX01RN (See attached link)

I searched forum without success--- I can learn all codes but hope a .rmdu file exists
Any help would be great

None of our Media Center upgrades are for a remote that looks like that. It's possible one of the no-name upgrades might work. Otherwise, please go ahead and post your completed upgrade here:

On the other hand, if you learn a single command, and post your file, we'll know for sure if we already have a matching upgrade.

I can confirm that we do not have a matching upgrade already.

But you're almost there. Go ahead and learn the rest of the commands, then in RM, go to Options - Advanced - Learn to Upgrade Conversion. On the Learned tab, select all rows and click Convert. Then on the Devices tab, double click the device to open it in the editor. Go to the Functions tab and rename each function correctly as needed. On the Buttons tab, click Auto Assign. Then click Save As.

Thanks

Here is the file
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=14169
I made a mistake functions "fav and on demand" should be deleted but the delete option is greyed out so I could not delete them.Their values are called by other correct buttons.
Hope I didn't make a mess!

Thanks. Looks good. I fixed it and moved it to the right place.

You can't delete a function assigned to a button. So unassign, then delete.

Great many thanx for your help--
Another question--This remote only sends digits 0-9 among other signals. Is there any way I could add another key using a universal remote (which has more keys)and send letters a-z. The remote must conform to some known/unkown protocol?!
Is the limitation in the ir receiver which is programmed to receive only the keys of its mating transmitting remote?
Thanx once again

99.999% of the time with this kind of adapter, the answer is no. I can tell you how to try every possible code, or I can recommend some smartphone apps for alpha entry on a PC which is what I typically do.

I like Hippo Remote for iOS. It does everything your remote does plus macros, touchpad mouse, keyboard and custom remotes for many apps like Kodi, Chrome, MPC, WMC, etc. Works over wifi, not IR. A similar one is Mobile Mouse. It has the additional feature of an air mouse (wave the phone around to move the mouse cursor). But it has the drawback that it won't work if you're not logged into the computer.

I haven't kept up with android options, but Unified Remote was a popular one last time I checked. I never saw anything on android as good as Hippo.

If you want to hunt for alpha commands, simply tap Setup followed quickly by 00000, then Setup 00001, and so on through 00255. The command is sent while the last digit is pressed. That would cover every possible command. You can skip the known EFCs in your upgrade if you wish. Entering a few of the known ones would confirm that your technique is correct.

If you can control your PC program with a keyboard, then the above apps or wireless keyboard will also work. There is no IR dongle with full qwerty keyboard capability that we have any upgrades for. A Microsoft MCE/RC6 dongle will respond to qwerty IR, but you'd have to buy a Microsoft IR keyboard to learn from. The result would be very impractical to use on a JP1 remote.

If you insist on IR, get an FLIRC for which you can assign any command to any keyboard sequence.
