RMIR works for oarusb04g on os x el capitan.
However, for nevo c2 it gave an error "error downloading from remote" and asked me to do a raw download and post here.

Please help.
C2 and OARUSB04G are the two most used remotes by me.
If I can manage them in os x, that would be great.
I don't need to boot into windows any more.
Thanks.

Your raw download loads without error for me. Please try it yourself and post here whether it loads for you, too. To make the raw download loadable, you need to edit it with a text editor to add the signature at the beginning, so that RMIR can tell what remote it is. The edit required is to make the file begin
Code:
[Signature]
0000: 55 53 42 38 30 30 36
[Buffer]
0000: 05 13 2F 44 65 7A 72 63 20 20 20 20 62 78 6D 6C
The first line of data is unchanged, I have included it just to show where the added text goes. The hex in the [Signature] section is merely USB8006 in ASCII. Save the edited file still with a ".ir" extension. Then use File > Open in RMIR to open this .ir file. If it opens for you but you still cannot do a normal download from the remote, we will have to investigate further.

So I edit the ir file exactly as what you typed:
adding
[Signature]
xxxxxxx
[Buffer]
xxxxxxxxx
But it won't open in rmir.
Whai is my next move? |

I crossed testing a little bit. I tried to open .ir file that I save from windows rmir in mac os x and it won't open it. I also tried to open the .ir file with the added signature file in windows and it opened fine. |

If I understand you correctly, the identical .ir file will open in RMIR under Windows but not under Mac OS X. This suggests that there is something wrong with your RMIR installation on the Mac, as RMIR should not need any of the native libraries (jp12serial etc) to open a .ir file.
The first thought that occurs to me is that you have an older version of RMIR on the Mac than on Windows. Is this possible? If not, then please try again to load the file on the Mac and post the rmaster.err file for me to look at. This is created when you close RMIR after the load attempt and should be found in your installation folder for RMIR. _________________ Graham |

No it's not, your rmaster.err file shows that it is the development version, v2.04 build 1. There is a known bug in that build. I have revised the .jar file several times since then. You can find the latest .jar file for v2.04 here. If you replace the .jar file in your v2.04 build with this one, it will upgrade it to build 5, which should solve your problem. _________________ Graham |
