What happened when you tried the Opticum remotes in the File Section ? In particular the Opticum ITI HD X8 ?

Hi I'm helping a friend buy a compatible DCB-C box here in Sweden, the Denver box I got myself is no longer availible so I figured it would be a good idea to find a remote file specific for a box before buying the box ... so the setup isn't a failure and we can't control the DVB-C.

Reason I choose the XC-80 is that it's cheap and availble here and I'm happy with a X406p I also own.

Regarding chancing on the other Opticum file, is it usually so that sibling boxes work on the same remote file?

Yes, manufacturers often use the same internals. But unfortunately we will never know if a remote works until you buy the box. You can't do it the other way around.

Yes I understand, that's why I took a chance and asked here .. to see if anyone might have the remote file.

I'll keep trying to find a box in Sweden and a remote file on your forum Smile do some digging among used boxes online,.

Thanks for the help and have a nice weekend!

I looked at the Opticum files that we have when this post first appeared, to see if it was worth suggesting trying one of the others, but they use several different code sets, so I don't know how likely it is that a file for a different model will work. Opticum may well be a re-branding brand, unlike more traditional brands like Panasonic, Toshiba, etc who would most definitely use the same codeset.

I am reasonably certain that the Opticum ITI HD X8 uses the same codes/

Ok, I'll have a look for another brand/box first ... but might have to try an Opticum in the end ..

GlobalCache Controltower appears to have them, both "Opticum X Series Cable and Satellite Receivers" and "Opticum HD-AX ODiN Satellite Receiver" mentioned in another thread. The first one consists of NEC1 codes with D=0, e.g. power toggle F=31, the second one NEC1, D=136, S=120, power toggle F=12.

Those codes don't match any of the Opticum files that we have, though we do have an Optibox file with NEC1 136.120
