I'm not familiar with the 7969. Please check the signature of your remote using the 983 Signature Blink back command. It may have 5 digits, so check numbers 1 through 5.

just me missing one doubts, which JP1 cable to use for the URC-7969?

It looks like the URC-7969 is the Argentinian version of the URC-7962

I'm pretty sure this cable will work...

It's really hard to tell the difference between the URC-7960 (JP1.4) and the 7962 (JP2) by looking at the pictures. So I do want to find out the signature of the 7669.

In any case the cable Rob recommended will work with either JP1.4 or JP2.

I still have doubts about how to build the same cable, I have a USB-to-RS232 Db9 PL2303_Prolific male, and I've done a cable at one end 6x pins as I do the cable so that it is compatible with my URC-7969?

there are some codes in my URC eg E124001 / URC 11-7969 R00 / S3F80KBX4C-COCB And talves can help in some information.

thank you.

Given that we can buy a ready made cable for under $9, it's been a real long time since most of us have bothered trying to make our own cables.

3298 is the same signature as the USA model OARI06G, so once you have a cable, RMIR should work, although it will tell you that you have a OARI06G. Perhaps the 7960 button names will be different.

This is a JP1.4 remote, so you might be able to make it work with the Prolific USB to TTL, but our experience hasn't been very good. If at some time you get a JP2 remote, the Prolific chip set definitely won't work.

I think your eBay link is a good cable to buy.

OK, yes I will buy this cable EBay from what I understand the FTDI Chipset FT232 is inserted into the USB port OK.

Brazil has the adapters with the same chipset FT232 http://abre.ai/Gtf

As I have 2 cables now a USB to RS232 and one that I myself did 6x pin to connect the URC 7969, as I assemble this cable to connect the two?

Here are the needed connections:
Code:
JP1.4      --->         FTDI  Signal Name
Pin
1   --------------- Not connected or +3.3/5 volts
2   --------------- RTS
3   --------------- Ground
4   --------------- TXD
5   --------------- Do Not Connect!
6   --------------- RXD

The Brazilian adapter doesn't seem to provide RTS, so it won't work unless it can be configured to control the RTS line.
