Trouble loading Device Upgrade on OARUSB04G

Post by PhileFriendly »

Hi-
I've recently gotten an OARUSB04G remote that I'm trying to load the device upgrade for a Philips FR975 receiver onto. I haven't used the tools in many years, so apologies if I'm asking something obvious here.

When I try to load the upgrade in RMIR, I get an error, "The upgrade file is for the remote 15-1994. There is no remote with that exact name. Please choose the best match." After I select one of the 1994 variants, I get another error: "Remote does not support device type Amp." Any advice on what I'm doing wrong here? I'm trying to use the device upgrade because the default Philips codes that came with the remote seem to not be able to power the receiver ON (I can power OFF, as well as control volume). I'm hoping the device upgrade I found here will get me straightened out. Thanks in advance!

I can't get that this upgrade into RM either, so I used KM to load the file, and copied the EFCs into a RM upgrade using the RC5/6 Combo executor and RC6 device 39 and 4. Unfortunately, there is only a Power Off signal--no Power On, which makes me think that selecting one of the Input commands would turn the unit on. And if you go to the file link above, that what the extensive notes say, noting that a long keypress is needed. I also downloaded the Pronto Hex for the Philips FR series from the Global Cache compilation and checked a few using IRScope (IrScrutinzer would work also). The few commands I checked matched our upgrade file.

I've uploaded the RMDU version of the upgrade and the Global cache file. If you want to try commands not given in the upgrade, convert the Pronto Hex (it always starts with "0000 0073 0000 ....") using IRScope/IrScrutinzer and enter the OBCs into the upgrade.
