RS 2116 newbie question

I have successfully upgrade two new devices to my remote but I have a stupid newbie question.

Can I 'see' the information already stored in the remote or is that in a ROM area that can't be touched?

When I perform a remote download the only thing I see is upgrades, macros, and learned commands. None of the default factory devices.

All the "built-in" information in the remote is in ROM, which can't be accessed by JP1. JP1 reads and writes the eeprom in the remore.

That's what I figured but I wasn't sure.

Second question, is there a list of 'assigned' remote codes or does that vary by each remote. I'm assuming each universal remote has it's own group of equipment codes that are unique?

Each remote has a different subset of all the UEI setup codes.
