no vickyg my unit doesnt have a button like that only 2 volume buttong a play button for usb a play button for dvd/cd a stop button and a power button and looks like the end of the line for me my computer does not have a paralel port

I think someone sells a cable with a jp1 adapter
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

DIY is the only one who still sells the adapter, but it's only $10 now:

well looking at prices for a couple more bucks i can just buy a remote for it specific so thanks all for the help
