Hi guys,
I need a Slingbox PRO remote bin file for Nippon Antenna GT30 remote. It is for a rare little box that allows reception of Japanese FTA digital channels on old analog TVs. I have installed Slingbox for my girlfriend to be able to watch some channels from back home but cannot find a code for this remote. I also got URC9960 universal remote and have learned the codes to it, read them out with JP1, but they are odd and some of the buttons are with Gap-524-1566-16 protocol that I cannot use in RM to generate bin file. Even for the buttons that seam decoded properly, when I create bin file and load into Slingbox, it doesn't work, so no ideas, I am stuck, please help Crying or Very sad

Many thanks,
BR
Dob

It looks like you are going to need a custom protocol. The signals have a different number of pulses, which usually indicates a phase style learn. I'm not good at figuring those out.

Do the learns work?

Please post your IR file in the diagnosis area, and then post a link in your thread. IR has some options for working with learns.

Hi again,
Thanks a lot for your quick reply.
I uploaded ir file to:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=13605

I am not 100% sure that the 9960 with learned codes would actually work and control the FTA tuner as I don't have it with me, but I assume it would as the learning was straight forward and remote received the code transmission without any problems, and I as repeated some of the buttons, it was always learned with the same data.

Do you absolutely need the volume+ and - keys?

The vol keys are a different protocol than the ch-ch+ and power keys. In a remote we'd divide that into two different protocols, and use keymoves, but that isn't an option in the slingbox as far as I know.

Its probably something we can do, but it will be difficult.

Here is an RDMU with the custom protocol in for the power and channel keys
see if you can make a Bin from this.

WORKING !!!!!
Amazing, thanks a million Very Happy

How have you done it???
Which tools you had to use to convert the recorded remote data and timing info into the protocol?

BTW, volume buttons are not important, CH and PWR are more than enough Smile

Once again many thanks for great work

I used Protocol Builder (PB) to build a protocol, because it is way more forgiving, but you could get this done in RemotMaster (RM) too.

Sometimes you need to use assembly language, but in this case its just a matter of plugging in the variables that you get from this IRP.

1 {41.9k,522,msb}<1,-1|1,-3>(4,-2,A:16,1,-23.3m)+{A=$5120}; Alt leadout form: ^48m
4 {41.9k,522,msb}<1,-1|1,-3>(4,-2,A:16,1,-21.2m)+{A=$B320}; Alt leadout form: ^48m
5 {41.9k,522,msb}<1,-1|1,-3>(4,-2,A:16,1,-21.2m)+{A=$7320}; Alt leadout form: ^48m

From this we can see some nice signals 16 bit signals with a lead in time, and the signal frames need to be 48000 long, so the timeout needs to be "as total"

The last byte of the signal is always $20, so we will treat that as the device. This takes on the form Cmd-Dev

The place to get started is reading this piece I wrote some time ago that shows how to read IRP.
