With Remote Master, you can add every possible function for every device, regardless of the setup codes you started with. That's the main reason this site exists and the purpose of most of the files in our file section.

My Vizio TV device upgrade, for example, has about 160 functions, every possible one. It will probably work fine with your TV as well.

Here's a device upgrade that includes every function for your Sony:

But you are correct that built in setup codes usually have limited functions which vary according to the code.

mdavej - On reaching your Vizio link page I got a 404 error (page does not exist) when clicking on the "click here" link along side the "web site". And when I clicked on the download button I got an rmdu file. Same for the sony link download.

Problem is, when I clicked on search the web for info on how to open this type file I got the reply, "No Information on this extension found!" Do you know how to access an "rmdu" file?

Thanks. I fixed the link.

You DO have a lot of reading to do. Remote Master opens rmdu files. It's the software that makes all JP1 remotes tick. You need to read the wiki linked at the top of the page, especially the "How easy is it - RM-IR version". Skip the parts about cables and connectors since yours already comes with a USB one.

We're all awe struck at what these cheap little remotes can do. No other cheap universals can do what JP1 remotes can do.
