Carl
If you start from an existing file the 8820N requires activation. Try
activating the 8820 by pressing TV then power.

Vicky
I have a working 8820 that I am willing to donate if you need it.

Thanks Jim. I have plenty up North. I just forgot to bring my bench remotes when i came to fl last fall.

Carl, tv power activates the extender. It needs to be reactivated every time you disconnect from the computer or replace the batteries.

Yes, that was it! I had to activate it with TV power just like my old 8910. I should have guessed. Everything is working fine now. I wish the extender would survive battery removal just like the atlas but anyway it's great. We should had a note in the readme file about it.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Whoops! Embarassed That extender is ancient, and you are the first to mention that it doesn't include activation instructions. Rolling Eyes Laughing
