I have a Yamaha 5560 Home Theater. My understanding of the JP1 process is such that it would be MUCH easier of someone who is both an owner of that system and a JP1 expert made an upgrade file. Is there a similar device that I could use, if that does not happen?
Thanks, |

We "hide" those upgrades here looks like three
likely candidates and one for your exact model. _________________ -Jon |

You can see for yourself just how easy it is to create an upgrade here:

Thanks a million, Rob, for this wonderful labor of love. It is VERY helpful.
However, I still need help.
I followed the instructions in your document, and loaded an upgrade file for my Yamaha 5560 Home Theater system. I them copied and pasted the device codes from KM to IR, and assigned the code 0176 to AUDIO.
However, when I looked (in IR) at the GENERAL tab, all other devices had no codes associated with them (other than audio, which was 0176).
Needless to say, when I loaded the stuff to my 15-2116, it did not work at all.
Obviously, there are still some steps that I am missing... |

Another good thing to add to Rob's document. _________________ -Jon |

OK. Now that I did download the stuff from the reomte to IR, and pasted the data from the KM file for the Yamaha 5560 to IR, many of the functions of the Yamaha controller work, but not all. I shall have to start tinkering. I am trying to get as many of the AMP modes of the Yamaha HT onto the 2116 (Concert Hall, Jazz Club, etc.). |

If you want us to take a look at what you're doing to see what you might be doing wrong, zip together your IR file and KM file and load it into the Diagnosis Area. Then PLEASE post a link to the file here. _________________ Rob

I have added a zip file to the DIagnostic area. It is called yamaha5560venik.zip. It has my KM and IR files for the RS 15-2116 and the Yamaha HT 5560. They work OK together, although many of the functions are missing, because of the smaller number of functions on the 2116, which has only one set of arrows ring, unlike the Yamaha RC that has 2. |
