Fujitsu 4242 in Oz

Post by Homer »

I recently bought a MX500, OFA8811b & JP1 cable, with the hope of being able to place all of my devices onto the MX500, with discrete codes, macros etc etc for my home theatre stuff.

After many hours of work, I was able to sort out most of my devices but am having major troubles with my Fuijitsu plasma PDS4242 screen ( uses P-42RMO7 remote).

I have used IR/KM/Devices4 ( uses NEC1 protocol & 179 code) to make an upgrade, but this does not work. Also tried using KM & a file I found for Fuji4203 but still no go ( also NEC1 protocol).

Then made 8811 learn PowerOn, PowerOff & RGB from OEM remote & IR tells me that they are Fujitsu protocol & device no is 132 !! Would I be right in thinking that the Oz Fujitsu is using a different protocol ? Whereto now ?

Ta for a great forum

That is the right protocol and device for your 4242!

You should ask Fujitsu for an answer.

Learn all buttons of the original remote in to the 8811 und look in IR for the results. Create an upgrade via KM and don't forget to copy and paste the protocol since the Fujitsu protocol isn't in your remote yet.

Thanks guys...upgrade now working although I had a problem in that IR only gave me a device number and was blank for sub-device. KM wanted both, so at 1st I just entered the default sub-device that KM prompted me with, but this did not work.
In desperation, I retried without a sub-device number & it worked :D
In due course I will save my file in your great files section.
Now off for some much needed beauty sleep & then gunna try to figure out how to make some discretes for those annoying toggle buttons.
Robs...just luv that new tut....much easier to follow than Tommy Tylers
Keep up the good work & thanks again.
If I catch you at Moes, I owe u 1 ...or 2
