I'm sorry for not noticing this bug report earlier. Investigation shows that it is clearly a bug of long standing. I have corrected it for the forthcoming RM/RMIR v2.03, for which a trial version is available as Alpha 22 here.quartermain wrote:If I download the remote into RMIR and look at the same thing it says Raw Data 37 D0 B8 73, Hex B8 73 and Key/Name 01974.
But if I select this line and click Edit, the Key Moves dialog comes up and in the row of radio buttons near the bottom the Function button is selected. The dropdown menu shows 0 and there is a 0 in the notes section.

RMIR v2.03 Beta is nearly here. I have posted RMIR v2.03 Alpha 27 as a full release package. If no further issues arise, it will be migrated unchanged to the SourceForge repository as RMIR v2.03 Beta.

v2.03alpha27 incomplete KM to RM transfer
This old file has several external functions of which only one got transfered to .rmdu. That'll be a problem since I have, I think, several upgrades with external functions.
and functions assignments to many buttons didn't make it through. I can AutoAssign and manually assign the rest, but me thinks it would be more convenient if the upgrade was intact.

Liz, thanks for pointing this out. Please try RMIR v2.03 Alpha 27a. The bug was one I accidentally introduced in 2011 that appears to have gone un-noticed ever since. It should be fixed now.

Reconciled transfer to RM 203a27a -
Looks ok but outputs differ in just the 2 zeros on the first line in RM - it may be about the 2 external functions, not sure.

Liz, I don't think there is a problem here. The 00 00 in RM are in the positions that would hold the hex codes for the Vol+ and Vol- keys. The External Functions on these keys create Key Moves when imported into RMIR, and it is the key moves in the remote that will send the signals for these two keys, from setup code 250 (which I presume is either built in or is a separate upgrade). The hex codes in those key moves are indeed the FB 7B that you see in the KM output in place of the 00 00, but those values will not be used. The key moves override them, and in any case I am not sure it is correct in any case to include them as they are assigned in setup code 2002, not in setup code 250 used by the key moves.

I agree, I was thinking along similar lines. The final test will be to upload to remote and check, but that's later. Yes, 0250 is one of those buttonless upgrades.
These 2 files fail a move from IR to RMIR.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=13051
Atlas file I have loads with no issues.
The scroller at the bottom continues forever and I do not get the memory use stats at the bottom. Quick visual inspection just for counts of things looks ok, but something isn't right.
It would be nice if RM could issue a message of what it doesn't like.
Oh, if you need .err files, I can reproduce.
I assume you have IR, is that correct?

In addition to previous post, this 8910 file also will not load into RMIR. I get a little Task error alert but no other information except the IR filename.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=13052
I had an unused protocol 011A in there, removed it in case that was the initial cause, but the load failure persists.

Liz, please try RMIR v2.03 Alpha 27b. These latest issues all concern Fav/Scan, even though the remotes in the first of these posts do not use it. The bug for the first of your posts was caused by a recent bug fix of mine
, leaving some code that ran (with error) even when the remote does not support Fav/Scan. The bug for the second of your posts probably goes back to when I first implemented Fav/Scan in RMIR but has escaped notice till now.
I'm very pleased you have spotted these things before I issued the Beta version. Do post anything else that you find - though I hope there won't be any
. BTW Yes, I do still have IR.exe.

It would be even nicer if it would then fix the problem, but I'm afraid it is not intelligent enough to do either of these!ElizabethD wrote:It would be nice if RM could issue a message of what it doesn't like.

I hope I'm in the right thread. Today I've tried to download my URC-8060 with RMIR v2.03 Alpha 27 (Windows XP) and I got this error:

I did a raw download but when I've tried to save it, nothing happened.
Here is the error log:
http://rosa.mywia.cz/rmaster.err
PS: IR v8.04 works with the same cable and the same remote.

Please use IR v8.04 to save a .ir file and post that, instead of the raw download. It has the same information in it. The error log is not enough for me to work with.HWTest wrote:I did a raw download but when I've tried to save it, nothing happened.

@mathdon,
v2.03 Alpha 27b feedback:
RMIR
1. Success: the .ir files you saw yesterday, plus few more, loaded without any issues. Memory stats make sense, counts make sense, all FAV/NoFAV are OK, spot checks of hex and other details look ok.
1a. what is the meaning of grey-shaded keymoves just after loading .ir?
1b. what is the meaning of bold hex in Raw data just after loading .ir?
1c. some keymoves, such as DSM, got moved to Special, and some Special got moved to keymoves. I think it's all ok, just different.
2. When I clicked on a device and chose Edit (just to look), then wanted to minimize the Device editor window (too look at the main, RMIR, window), both that and RMIR minimized. Yikes, most inconvenient.
3. I wanted to see what the import raw button does when click on a device. I pasted some stuff from KM. It all came in, but as one loooong row which included buttons and keymoves. I bailed out of that not being sure what's supposed to happen.
4. BIG WISH - Graham, look in IR on the Devices tab. The Device info on the right shows hex stuff for buttons. I really, really, really miss it in RMIR, always did. I would like to see equivalent window/tab in RMIR. Because it is that list that I often use to check IRscope, and the screen gets simply much too occupied when RMIR and RM and IRscope have to be opened. I wish I had two screens, or more
RM
1. Likely user error: I tried doing something in RM and abandoned it. Close without saving. Subsequent attempt to run RM continues to have the previous trash. On the Functions tab I tried a Cleanup button, but then some default Acer protocol was in there. I suspect I need to read some instructions
2. Ooops! Bad news. Once again, when I opened KM file in RM, only one external function came in, and buttons not assigned at all. This time on one Denon KM file for 7800 (same as yesterday you got) which uses another buttonless device for ext.functions. Curiously, the file I complained before (Digital Stream?) comes into RM just fine, go figure.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=13053
Should I go through all files where I might have external functions? Not sure I can locate them. It's all old stuff, so want to make sure you need it.
