Which Version of Java for RMIR ?
So which version of Java should I use for RMIR v2.03Alpha and where can I download it? I read here that some versions don't work with RMIR.
Under Windows XP 32 bit, I have used Java 1.7, and haven't tried 1.8. For Windows 7 both 32 and 64 bit Java work with 1.7. I've only tried 1.8 on Win7 64 bit, and that works.

There used to be issues with the 64bit version. That was a long long time ago. I still use the 32 bit version, even though I have a 64 bit machine. It is always best to run the latest and greatest version of Java, you don't want to run into security issues.mdavej wrote:Where did you see these issue reports?
I tried to install Java 1.8 on my XP machine and it gave a warning that I need to upgrade to a newer OS, but it looks like it will still install even though I did not and installed Java 1.7 instead.mdavej wrote:I always use the latest JRE on all platforms and have never had a problem with any of them. I believe there was a thread vickyg2003 had made concerning Java 8.xx
