Remote for Motorola VIP 2262 ESL

Post by cloaknite »

Hi there, I'm trying to use a slingbox with a cable tv box, it is a Motorola 2262ESL, I tried a bunch of presets but none of them worked, I also tried the VIP1200 file but with no luck, can someone help me?

Thanks :D

All the information I can find tells me the 2262 uses the same IR codes as the 1200. So nothing more I can do I'm afraid.

But you don't appear to have read the installation instructions properly so that might be worth a try. There are some more up-to-date ones at http://placeshiftingenthusiasts.com/how ... -slingbox/

I've searched everywhere and all I could find is the same info, I also checked the IR transmitters and they are ok...

Pity. I have checked and re-checked and from everything I can find the 1200 and 2262 use the identical codes.

Any solution?

Can I build a new code for the remote?

Sorry to sound like a broken record but I have already provided the best solution I can. EVERY test I run confirms that the 2262 uses the same codes as the 1200, and that is at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=6298

If it doesn't work and all the proper checks detailed in the instructions have been carried out then the only possible answer is that the VIP 2262 codes that have been uploaded to the Logitech Harmony database are incorrect.

You would need some hardware to capture the signals. An IR Widget, a JP1 learning remote and cable or certain types of Logitech Harmony remotes to capture the signals. Working with a widget or a Harmony would probably be the lowest cost. Once we had correct signals we could PROBABLY help.

Is the original remote sending out IR signals? You can determine this by looking at the business end of the remote through a digital camera, the one on the remote will do.

Also is there any setting in the box itself that specifies a remote type, ie RF vs IR? The sling can't work with RF type boxes.
