MULTITECH DM-T2A REMOTE DVB-T2- LOOKING FOR BIN AND HELP

Post by JUCAGU »

I just hooked a DIGITAL TELEVISION TERRESTRIAL RECEIVER from Multitech to my Slingbox Solo. There are some Multitech remotes in the Slingbox list. I tried all of them and none worked. My first question:
Does anybody have any idea in which category DVB-T2 devices belong (cable box, pvr, tv, etc)/ DVB-T2 stands for Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial?
Second question: Does the remote Multitech DM-T2A have closest match on the slingbox list? if not Could anybody help me finding the BIN to load this remote in the Slingbox?
Thank you. Any advice is greatly appreciated.[/list]

As to the first question I think it is probably cable. For your second question I am struggling as the DM-T2A does not feature in the Logitech Harmony IR Database where I get all the codes.

Sorry

Thank you for the answer. I think this technology DVB-T2 is relatively recent, and the purpose is help people to change analog TV to Digital TV. The model from Multitech DM-T2A decodes and converts terrestrial signals in digital ones particularly for analog TVs. This transition has been made in European, African, south American and south Asian countries.
I have been doing some research about the features of the device and how the remote works with it. So, the remote allows to scan radio and TV signals, creates an EPG, schedule recordings, play recordings, etc.
Most of the models of DVB-T2 have the same kind of remote. So, I think if we could match one of the multiple DVB-T2 brands with some of the remotes codes already on file, I could try it with my device. Here is a list of the brands that could be matched. Maybe, because you have more experience, you could look for me on these brands and see a possible remote match:ACONATIC
AMIKO
AMLOGIC
ARIVA
DIGITALSTREAM DTX9950
DONKEY ATB150S
FLAMESAT
GOSPEL
LOGO
OEM HDT-001A
PANODIC
STARTIMES
SUPER DREAM
TECHNISAT TELDI
TELDI T2
TELESYSTEM
VCAN
YAOJIN 2209
YAOJIN 2210
YINHE
ZENITT DT900

Thanks again

Sorry, without access to your box I can't test anything.

If you want to try, the full collection of Custom Remotes is at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... &cat_id=87

JUCAGU,
Why not try the Zenith DTT901 binary file? Or look for other binary files for models on your list.

Alanrichei:

Thanks for all replies.

I added the Multitech DM-TS2 as new device under the category Digital Set Top Box in the Logitech Harmony software. It suggested me a similar device called MULTITECH 5000, which should be in the Harmony database.

Could I have the BIN for the Multitech 5000 considering that you have access to the Logitech Harmony IR codes database?

Thank you again.

I hadn't bothered before as this box has only the numbers and the CH+/- buttons defined so I didn't think it was the same.

So, up until now not much. It did not work. I am still trying some others.

I found one that is under Slingbox' list-CABLE BOX called CABLE TV HK Cisco Z368DVB(Cablebox) that has almost all the functions. However, the keys should be renamed and there is one vital function I am looking for that is recording and playback, rewind, forwarding that it is still missing.

Anyways, I noticed that only on remotes with Chinese background (I mean cable companies or TV broadcasting) the MULTITECH device could be matched or cloned.

Any comments are more than welcomed.

OK, that is a major breakthrough, you should have mentioned it. Let me explain the situation.

1. A device will use a specific IR protocol, there are about 20 of those in current use.

2. It will have a defined Device number (0-255) and a defined Sub-device number (0-255)

3. Each button has a code (0-255).

So we have 331,627,500 possibilities. Not very practical.

HOWEVER, by finding a remote that actually operates your device, however badly, you have found (1) & (2). So now for each button you have narrowed down the possibilities to 255. Easily fixed.

So I have uploaded some test files at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=12981

You haven't told me whether you are using the RV or PL files so I have included both.

C2010 is the raw Cisco Z368 as I have it, so you can confirm we are on the right track.

C2011 is a 'dummy' remote where each button (except the Power button which should work) sends one of the codes that are not presently being used.

So once you have installed the C2011 remote, tap on EVERY button (including the 15 Custom Buttons you get by right-clicking on the image and selecting Custom), and tell me what each button actually does.

I have been trying a brand MICO on DVD slingbox's list and all of the remotes have functions and keys that work with MULTITECH. However they are named differently respect of the action I need.
I also searched in the Harmony file and I found a STB from MICO named MODEL STB-238. I am wondering if it is possible to have the bin from this device.
Thanks

What about the test files I sent you ? Try those first. Just picking random devices is not helping now.

Thanks for the replay and suggestions.

My Slingbox only works with PL files. I have tried everything you sent me, including C2011 and none of the bottons, including the 15 customs, worked.

I am wondering if the Multitech DM-T2A really belongs to the CABLE BOX category or maybe could be considered a TUNER or SATELLITE receiver, or maybe a PVR. If that is true maybe we could try the bin files under these other categories? In the meantime, I could start searching remotes in the Slingbox list.

Thanks,

Sorry, are you saying C2010 didn't work either ? That is Cisco Z368DVB and you said the built in one worked ?

Your second point is irrelevant, it makes no difference.

Give me a built-in model that you say almost works, I will analyse that signal and try and figure out what is going on.
