|
|
Hello,
please excuse my bad english.
I have a one for all 7962. Now I have a receiver and a Amp which needed new codes.
Which cable I need.
I read many about that the 7962 is JP2. Can I use a JP1.3 Cable?
Thank you for the help. |

JP1.3 cables which are based on the FTDI chipset will work. Ones which are based on the Prolific chipset (DIYGadget, Tiao) don't work. |

Looks good to me. But if you buy from the Chinese vendor with worldwide shipping, you won't need a 3x6 adapter. Just glue the pins together.
In the US, Mouser is one vendor that sells the connectors. I don't know about Europe. |

Ok, it is the same as that from Germany I think.
The Software RemoteMaster.v2.03Alpha22 is right to load new keys in the OFA? |

but where can I find which number is which pin at my OFA 7962? |
Most remotes have numbers printed on the board labeling 1,2,5 and 6. Other remotes have a notched box surrounding the 6 pin connector. The corner with the / notch is pin 1. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Pins usually go:
5 6
3 4
1 2
with 1 marked as Vicky said. Rotate the above to match your remote. Once you get it right, superglue them together and mark pin 1 somehow. |

Use the following pin numbers on the JP2 6 pin connector. I suggest you ignore the colors or numbers of the wires in the cable. Make the connections based on the functions printed on the circuit board.
JP2 Cable
pin 2 RTS
pin 3 Ground
pin 4 TX
pin 6 RX
pin 1 Power
We ordinarily don't connect power to the remote, but there is no harm in connecting 3.3 volts. If your cable is a 5 volt version, I recommend against connecting power to the remote.
Do not connect anything to pin 5. |

The 7962 uses the MAXQ612 processor. This is a JP2 class remote, although most JP2 remotes use the MAXQ610 processor. The 612 has more memory. The communications protocol is JP2. |
