Richard,

I recently ordered a USB kit from you and received it in the mail yesterday. Thanks for the prompt shipping. However, I was a bit dismayed to find that there were no instructions with the kit, nor could I find any on your web site. Since you use your own PCB design, the basic instructions at the Yahoo group really don't help much.

Fortunately for me, I'm an EE by trade, and I could simply trace the connections and hook things up based on the schematic given in the Yahoo instructions. However, it would have taken much less time to assemble the kit if some instructions were included, or at least made avalable somewhere on your site. Just my thoughts....

When I made my first one I took a few pictures of it. I just haven't had time yet to get it up on the web. I hope to have it very soon.

Nobody's active? Are you blind? Good luck posting at Yahoo because I turned off the message function there last year.

It took me about 7 days to receive confirmation and another 7 days to receive my cable so I suggest you just wait it out if you can.

I would have liked a little better service but the price was right...

To shed a little more light on this, you need to keep in mind that there are just 2 people making JP1 cables for this group, those being Richard (Hovis Direct) and Tom (Filebug). Everybody else who sells JP1 cables (including myself) gets them from one of those 2 guys. So as you can hopefully imagine, that means they have to make an awful lot of cables, and seeing how Richard sells his cables for $6 less than Tom, he probably gets the larger share of those orders.

Remember also that both of these guys have regular full time jobs, they just do the cables in their spare time, so if it takes them a few days to ship your order, and if they don't answer every email personally, I think they deserve a little slack.

When I started the JP1 group, I used to supply the parts to make a cable in kit form but I quit doing that because it was too much work (and I didn't have to build the cables), so I take my hat off to both of these guys for making the cables and selling them as cheaply as they do. I could easily have had this gig for myself but I didn't want any part of it.

As for how long it takes for a cable to arrive once it's been mailed, you need to take that up with the Post Office. When you don't pay extra for shipping, you just get First Class mail.

Richard has contacted me (and rather promptly I might add).

Things are well, he has been busy and unable to access his hotmail account as regularly as he would like.

Sorry for starting such a fuss...it's just unnerving clicking PayPal and seeing a payment made and then not hearing an e-mail reply for a week.

I'm just glad there are guys like Richard out there!

Thanks for helping cool down us hotheaded guys, Robman ;)

I'll let everybody know when I get my cable so that everybody knows it takes about a few weeks but it all works out in the end :D
