Samsung BD-DT7800 - missing tool button. Please help me :(
Hi everyone,
I'm praying someone can help me here, i have a Samsung BD-DT7800 freeview HD recorder and also purchased a slingbox 350 at the same time. The problem is slingbox does not have any support for the recorder, my model doesn't appear on the list of compatible devices.
Luckily I found this site and manage to grab a bin file. I can now control the system remotely using the custom remote file but there is one button, one crucial button that is missing - the tool button! I realised that without this button I cannot delete my recorded programs remotely.
Please can somebody help me? I am not a techie person and really hope someone can save me here.
Thank you in advance!

Thanks again

That bin file uses Samsung36 IR protocol, device 48.26 E=1. We have two other files with similar IR protocol, found by using JP1-Master-1.11.xls. Both of these say Tools in OBC 9. The bin file you're using has OBC 9 assigned to the Setup button.
This upgrade file has 5 functions not found in the bin file. Perhaps those could be useful.

guildhall, the generic skin of your slingbox doesn't have a button labeled "tool", so the tool function was mapped to the "Setup" button.
Apparently you need to right click on the remote image to access the setup function.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Pity. I suppose it is logical for the Setup button to go to the Setup function. Unfortunately all the information we have is that the Tools function is the same code as the Setup function.
1. I assume you actually tried that button when your PVR was in a state where you wanted to delete recorded programs ? It could be the code is context-dependent.
2. I assume that your 'real' remote has 2 different buttons, one for 'Setup' and one for 'Tools' ?
3. I have managed to find a few more codes from the Logitech Harmony IR database so I have built you a new remote adding them as :
Custom 10: Channel List
Custom 11: Smart Hub
Custom 12: Audio
Custom 13: AD
Custom 14: 2D-3D
Custom 15: Record Pause
(Again right-click on the image to access them)
The remote is at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=12546
Any better ?

According to the Samsung manual, the Tools button is a context sensitive button. In order to delete the recording you must be in the Recorded TV screen to get the menu you are looking for.
1. In the Home menu, press the ◄► buttons to select the My Contents.
2. Press the ▲▼ buttons to select the Recorded TV, and then press the ENTER button.
1. In the Recorded TV screen, press the YELLOW (C) button to display check box.
2. Press the ENTER button to select the desired title you want to delete.
3. Press the TOOLS button.
4 Use the ▲▼ to select DELETE then press ENTER.
