newbie needs help w/ Sony protocols

Post by tidle73 »

I just got a jp1 cable and I'm trying to program an 8810w & an 8811 (different equipments for each remote) remote using keymaster and ir.exe. I downloaded jp1 for beginners ver 1.1 and am trying to fallow it the best I can. I think that I got the tv code setup for the 8810w (it's for an aunt and I have to try it out when I go to her house). When I try to look up the protocol for my tv (a Sony KV-32S26 code 0000) using devices4.xls the name it gives is just SONY and in keymaster it list 5 different protocol names under SONY but they all have extra information. The five are SONY 12/15, SONY 20, SONY COMBO, SONY DSP, and SONY EGG. Is it not possible to program this tv using keymaster or can I select one of the 5 list protocols.

Thanks

TV/0000 is Sony12/15 protocol with most functions using device 1 and a few using device 164.

You should look at the list of OBC numbers and functions for Sony TV's here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/sony/Sony_tv.htm

It lists five different device numbers. The Sony12/15 protocol just handles two device numbes. Many of the commands listed are missing from many models, so two device numbers may be enough. If you need more than two device numbers, you could use keymoves from a second setup code or you could use a Sony Combo protocol instead of Sony12/15.
