Xoro 8910 bin file

Post by danone »

G'day,
Just wonder if anyone here can help me with a bin file for slingbox500.
I have a cable receiver Xoro8910.
Or perhaps if anyone knows other remote that might work with xoro 8910.
I am only after the basic functions e.g. Power up/down, volume and channel.
Thank you in advance for your answer. I am happy to provide any required information.

Couldn't find the 8910, but did find an 8010 so it's worth trying

Please read this as well so you know the problems with the 500 and Cystom Remotes.

Thank you for the fast reply.
Unfortunately I had no luck.
I guess is normal since the 8910 is a cable box while 8010 is a terrestrial unit and one can own both then remote commands would overlap.

No errors loading the .bin file. The custom remote comes up fine, tried every single button, the IR blaster works (checked with a digital camera) and the original remote works also with my xoro8910. But no commands received by the box.
Perhaps this unit is not very common around.

Reading this forum it looks like provides plenty of information of how to create my own bin file. I might get geared up and create my own file...
Pity that meanwhile I have to ask the person leaving on the slingbox side to change channels for me! Not nice with 8 hours difference in between us.

Thanks again Alan for your help and I appreciate if you keep us posted in case you create a bin file for 8910.

Pity. The Logitech Harmony IR database seems to think they use the same codes but apparently not.

Yes, indeed pity. Did lots of testing since and no joy.
But I have just bought a Radio Shack 15-133 and a JP1.3 cable from ebay. So I look forward to have some fun thanks to your tutorial Alan.
If lucky then I will post the bin file.

Thanks again Alan.
Cheers, Dan

Thanks Alan for the very easy to follow tutorial!!
I did buy a cheap second hand RS 15-133 and a JP1.3 cable.
Following your tutorial managed straight on to create a bin file for my Xoro 8910. It works like a charm.
I have only learned some 80% of the Xoro keys just as a test.
I will have them all done and post the rmdu and all 4 bin files...
Cheers!

Good, well done. Don't bother with all 4 BIN files, the only 2 that are being used now are the PL & RV files. And if you want a set of installation instructions to add to the files let me know.
