Luxman A-377 amp volume problem

I recently bought this unit and it worked well for a few tracks then the volume dropped to about the level of a set of headphones
I am running it through large Goodman speakers and it has both channels but very low volume and a tinny high pitched sound
Any ideas what is wrong and how to fix?
