How do I determine the correct setup code and protocol when creating an upgrade from scratch. I am using IR 8.04 and RM-IR. I've learned keys from an Element RC to the OFA-9910 but need to know how to determine the setup code & protocol. In advance thanks. _________________ Radunn |

Show the learns to us, and we can help you figure it out. Post the IR file in the diagnosis section with a link here. |

All of those learns contain only the dittos from a NEC1 signal. Make sure that you have the learning remote ready to accept a signal before pressing the button on the OEM remote.
But have you tried any of the Element TV upgrades?. They are all NEC1 device 8. |

Thanks to both of you; Vicky and 3FG. When learning I was doing it in reverse order , having done it via instructions from your posts I get the NEC1 protocol.
Part 2 of my query is how/where is the setup code determined for an RC? Again thanks for your support. _________________ Radunn |

When you create an upgrade, you assign it a type and a 4 digit number. The setup code number should be less than 2047. Some remotes can take higher numbers, but for the most part that creates problems when using the upgrade forother remotes. The type dictates which buttons are available in the upgrade without resorting to keymoves. Then type might also effect punch through. |
