G'day, JP1 community. It's been a while...

1. Device: Voxson VLED24D
2. Type of device: LCD/LED TV/DVD Combo
3. Year: 2011 (?)
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-8811/8910
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? No
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? n/a

IMPORTANT: Voxson is NOT to be confused with Voxon - they are different brands.

Voxson is listed in the lookup tool, and the LUT search brings up some protocols/codes for TVs and DVDs by Voxson. Obviously intending to try those, just wondering if there are any other suggestions before I go and do that.

Thanks,
:-DS

Sorry, MaskedMan, I thought I have replied.. but apparently haven't...

Tried both codes on URC8811 - for DVD device, and for TV device.

Neither combination is accepted by RC - long blink at the end of code typing.
And those codes are NOT listed amongst the codes in DVD or TV section of codes leaflet either.

Have I misread you?

Thanks.

I knew that TV 0054 was the most popular TV code, but didn't know the most popular DVD codes before. Several of my TV's respond to TV/0054 even though the OEM remote uses a totally different signal. I don't see why DVD players would be different.

Video/0821 NEC1 135.34
Video/0695 NEC2 116

I didn't see any other candidate for the voxson. I think you'll be doing some trial and error. Did you ever pick up a more modern remote? The newer remote have huge libraries that would help with your rescue projects.

Voxson's LCD/DVD combo uses Nec1 0.127

Give this upgrade a try

Nope, sorry Vicky.

Just tried it - does not work.

But thanks for continuing to look around. Greatly appreciated.

Where did this info (NEC1 0.127) come from? Are there other options there to try?

Sorry, what I meant to say is that the upgrade seems to be for Technika TV TX22D TV/DVD combo if we believe the file name.

What prompted you to think that Technika upgrade also might suit Voxson? Is Voxson known to be a re-branded Technika?

Is it worth trying all protocols for Technika devices from Lookup Tool?

Drat! The Nec1 0.127 VLCD22D TV/DVD combo that matched all the Technika signals.

I couldn't find any Voxson LED TV/DVD combos, just the LCD/DVD combo. Do you have any other part number?

Sometimes different manufacturer's seem to use the same IR components. The LCD/Tv/DVD player was a long shot.

I couldn't find any other VLEDxxD part numbers to try.

So, the resemblance in the part numbers between Voxson and Technika is what suggested that the upgrade might work, right? Yes, Voxson also had Model# VLCD22D in their line of products. Now discontinued. As well as the subj.

Here is the page that lists all their current TVs/Combo models:

Thanks again for keeping this topic afloat.

No, it was the Voxson VLCD22D 's signals that matched the Technika.

So this not working, either means that your IR receiver is bad, or that Voxson doesn't have consistancy over their line of products. You often have the consistancy problems when a product is rebranded, or the manufacturer outsources parts.

BTW I somehow lost the word Voxson in my origimal post. I'm working with a laptop, and I keep losing big hunks of my posts! Why on earth do they put that touchpad under the palm of your hand! And Windows 7 requires ADMIN rights to turn it on and off from the Fn keys! Stupid design.

Hmm, after looking at the Voxson site, my money is on inconsistent IR Codes. If you go to order one of their replacement remotes, they require BOTH your Model Number AND your serial number which would seem to indicate that the code even on the same model is inconsistent.

This means this will be very hit or miss.

If this were me (I'm very persistent) I'd look at the JP1_master spreadsheet and see what other TV/DVD combos were using, and give one of each of the different Protocol/Device Combos, to see if I could find one that works.

If that fails, here is an Excel list of all the UEI codes that are identified for TV/DVD combos.

Well, apparently we are trying to make this hard to find! An old version (1.05) is in the main tools section, but JP1-Master-1.10 is available, just impossible to find.

Jp1-Master-1.10

The Jp1-Master spreadsheet allows you to be more selective in which upgrades to try. As we know from this thread, sometimes manufacturer's change there signal type. If you have a partially working setup from UEI, or from an upgrade, and then you want to see if another function is available, using the JP1 Master spreadsheet lets you make informed decisions. That's why when I found the Voxson VLCD22D, I knew to look at the Technica for a match. I just looked up what else shot the signals using spreadsheet filters. When I saw a TV/Combo upgrade that used the same protocol, I popped it open, compared a few key OBCs, like Power, Play, 1, 2, 3 and realized I could just have you try that upgrade.

Its a HUGE timesaver.

Its a cool tool for those of us with Excel.
