JP1 Remotes

My (four discrete transistor) serial-port interface cable works fine with IR, but not with RMIR v2.02a.


The only items available form the RMIR "Remote" drop-down menus are Raw Download and Verify After Upload.

When I try a Raw Download, I get the error statement "No remotes found."

Sigh. Any suggestions?

Even with no interface connected to the computer, RMIR 2.02a should display Interface, Download From Remote, Raw Download, and Verify Upload as active. If you don't see all of those available, then either the installation is incorrect or some other version of RMIR is actually being run.

In the RMIR installation directory, you should find the file rmaster.err. Upload that file to the diagnosis area here. Do make sure that the file has a current date and time.

Ran Setup.vbs and it didn't create that subdirectory. I manually created it and added the files. RMIR is working OK now. Thanks!

The directories should be created when you unzip the distribution. Perhaps your unzip utility isn't doing that--most have an option to not create subdirectories, although it is usually a poor idea to invoke that option.

Setup.vbs associates file types, crreates shortcuts, and tries to locate your Java distribution.
