So far, no one has reported the EFC for a skip function. You can search for it by trying all of the possible EFC values. To do that, you would put the DVR into play mode, and then tap Setup, followed by entering one of the below 5 digit EFCs. Try it first with the EFCs for Pause (56261) and Play (52165), just to be sure the procedure works.

Here are all of the posible EFCs, minus the ones which we already know have a defined function.

Back when I had a cable box, I got help here to develop a 'pause with abort' protocol. I used this to make a macro that does:

fwd-fwd-fwd-pause-play

Where the 'pause' was either the amount of time needed to skip 30 seconds or 3 minutes. It worked pretty well - the 'with abort' part was so that if you saw it was going too far you could hit 'play' to abort the sequence.

If anyone is interested, I can dig up an old .ir file...

I have switched to WMC - so I no longer have such problems (now I have new problems Very Happy )

xnappo, I understand your workaround and that sounds very workable. Thanks for the tip.

You can find the Atlas OCAP (30333033) pause with abort in this thread:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12082&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=39

The RCA version is a couple of posts down from that.

Note that AFTER that we started discussing passing the key the caused the abort - never got that to work - but it isn't needed for this use case anyway.

[EDIT] Also looks like Bill's newer extenders have this built-in

If this is a Motorola-compatible version of the RNG200, it should support the standard Motorola codes (Cable 1376), along with the newer XMP-based code set (Cable 1982). You may need to look on the bottom of the DVR to see the true model number. RNG is just Comcast's generic part number for a particular type of box.
