I've fopund several setup codes that will operate disc transport and volume but cannot control on/off and input. I suspect that it will need to be programmed as a combo device but I'm looking for a "best" setup code or codes to control on/off, input, and volume. I am passing familiar with how to program using 99X commands and could eventually figure this out but I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.
Thanx!

RCA products tend to use the RCA IR protocol, but not always. Tell us which setup codes give you partial control, and we may be able to give you better suggestions or suggest which EFCs to try. |

I started with the Audio codes from the instruction sheet... Setup code 1254 gives me disc transport, vol and I can get the setup menu for the RTD317W. It accepts some EFC's associated with 1254 but still no power, input, or arrows. Is this a good starting point or should I try some DVD codes? |

That is totally awesome!!! Last time I did this, I spent hours with a FOU table and converting OBC's to EFC's. Thanx a million!!!!
Any other tips? I'm wondering if this is the "best" setup code or if I should try others? Does it even matter? I'm just glad I can now get all the functions I use onto my remote.
thanx again!

I'm not sure what a FOU table is, I googled it but still don't know. I can tell you that this took about 5 minutes with a slow internet connection.
Let me give you a hint as to the procedure I used.
1) First step, I did a File Search and looked for RCA Home Theater, and found this upgrade in the MISC section
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=11310
this is crucial, because many times the upgrades are not where I think they should be. This upgrade uses RCA device 12
2) I went to the Lookup tool and checked to see if there was a RCA 12 code built in to your remote. The answer was no.
I then checked out your Audio 1154 code, RCA Combo. And it was the only RCA Combo built in, so not only is it the "best" code, it is the only code in your remote.
3) I opened two instances of RemoteMaster, one for the HomeTheater upgrade and another set up for an RCA Combo.
4) I copied the function names and then the OBC values into the RCA Combo upgrade , and replaced all the device numbers with 12.
To make them easier to read, I arranged the columns so the 5 digit EFCs were first, and the function names were second for readability, and simply copied them and pasted them into my post. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

FOU= Frequency Of Use.... shorthand for most popular codes. It was just a bit less straightforward in the old days
Thanx for your help!
