Looking for BIN file for Manta DVBT01 DVB receiver

Post by firefly74 »

Hello lads, joined your community hunting for BIN of Manta DVBT01 DVB receiver to control on my Slingbox:
http://www.manta.com.pl/en/dvbt01/

So far I've managed to somewhat control it using Qingdau Cable TV Remote as a Remote. However some keys are missing and the rest of them don't correspond to the actual keys pressed (e.g. pressing 7 triggers 1 - Channel down is 6 etc). Quite confusing :eek:

Anyone with the same problem or can point me to the right direction? Thanks!

This box has a pretty standard set of 'internals'. Try this remote

Thanks Alan for your quick reply.
Tried the proposed Bush BIN file but unfortunately none of the remote buttons correspond to actual buttons (i.e. none of the remote keys work).

This is what I did:
1. Uploaded the BIN through the web player using C2010_RV.bin and the device set as a Cable Box
2. got a standard remote
3. Tried pressing all buttons, waiting for feedback.
4. None worked.
5. Also tried all Bush remotes offered in Slingbox setup with no luck.

Did you try the PL file as well ?

And what about the other checks in the instructins ?

And ignore the Bush part, that was just one of the 10 or so boxes that use NEC1 1.191 IR protocol that this box uses. Others are

Dune BD Prime 3.0, Axil RT160, Acces DTA-1080, Yamada DTV-2900, Tevion STB 7017....

All of these are available in the File section.

>Did you try the PL file as well ?
I did and I'd get an Invalid BIN file error. Placed the file in the root folder of my Mac and tried again - no joy.
I'm using a Slingbox PRO-HD anyway, so RV is the way to go, right?

>And what about the other checks in the instructins ?
I could only upload the file via the web page, as loading the BIN via the Slingplayer app, requires the Slingbox to be on the same internal network (unfortunately it's not - I'm located in another country).

>Dune BD Prime 3.0, Axil RT160, Acces DTA-1080, Yamada DTV-2900, >Tevion STB 7017....
Tried all of those, the ones that would upload (usually the RV variety), didn't work for all keys pressed. :roll:

IR Blaster location is fine and functional as it operates as soon as I select Qingdau Cable Box as a remote (albeit with unexpected results).

I have mapped the corresponding keys in a JPG file. This is the Qingdau Cable Box remote with the keys that correspond to my Manta: http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/8906 ... ocable.jpg

OK, if it is a Pro-HD then you should be using the PL BIN File NOT the RV BIN File.

The message about an invalid file doesn't actually mean that, it means it cannot find the BIN file. So you must be typing in an incorrect path and filename. Seems odd as you must be doing it correctly for the RV file ?

You are wromg about Slingpl;ayer app, it does not require you to be on the same network. I use it regularly to reconfigure my Pro-HD.

Back to you :-)

Ok, thanks for your swift replies Alan!

Indeed - it's the PL files that are successfully uploaded, not RV - my bad.

I was able to load all PL files suggested minus the Yamada one - whatever I tried, the BIN would not upload.
The other ones that I've managed to load, did not work.

Regarding Slingplayer app, I've managed to get it to work if I launch Setup Assistant within the Slingplayer.app from Slingbox Info window. If I launch the Setup Assistant independently then I get a specific dialog from Slingplayer that Slingbox should be on the same network as the Mac client and I'm unable to continue (Next button is greyed out).

Anyway, I guess I'll have to live with Qingdau Cable Remote as a workaround - the annoying thing is that it's a pain to easily change channels on the iPhone client with this weird mapping (on iPad it's fine since I get the remote) :roll:

Thanks again for your help!

OK I installed the Qingdau Remote on my SLingbox and that uses the NEC1 1 protocol, different from the official one for the Manta. Now, I have about 40 Custom Remotes that use that setup but without knowing some of the correct codes I cannot give any suggestions. Which buttons work correctly ?

Funnily enough I am building a remote that uses this protocol over at the Sling forum. http://answers.slingbox.com/message/85980#85980

Check it out.

Thanks for looking into this.
Tried suggested Goodman BIN file - some of its keys trigger some actions (not the ones corresponding to the buttons labels). Below is a Matrix of both Qingdau Cable TV and Goodmans keys:

Quingdau Cable TV* ==> Manta DVB T01
Power on/off ==> Favorites
Volume Down (TV?) (upper left corner) ==> 9
Down arrow (upper left corner) ==> 6
Chinese button under Power ==> 5
Chinese button next to down arrow (upper right) ==> 8
Chinese button over P+, P- button ==> Schedule
Chinese button over V+, V- button ==> Time Shift
Green Center Chinese button ==> OK
Chinese button under P+, P- button ==> 4
5 ==> 0
6 ==> 7
7 ==> 1
8 ==> 2
9 ==> 3
# ==> Down arrow
TAB ==> Menu
Chinese button on the right to TAB ==> Last
Blue button ==> Right arrow
Yellow button ==> Mute
Green button ==> Left arrow
Red button ==> Exit

* If the description of the Qingdau Remote keys is difficult to understand, I have mapped the corresponding keys in a JPG file. This is the Qingdau Cable Box remote with the keys that correspond to my Manta: http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/8906 ... ocable.jpg

Goodmans GDB18FVZS2 ==> Manta DVB T01
0 ==> Down arrow
Channel - ==> Down arrow?
1 ==> Subtitle language
2 ==> Audio language
3 ==> Teletext
5 ==> TV / Radio?
6 ==> Menu or Middle button
7 ==> OK or All TV List
Channel Λ ==> Program Guide
Channel V ==> Up arrow

Thanks for helping me out. :)

Good step forward. As far as I can see we are missing the following functions:

Power
Ch+/-
Display/Info

I assume there are no Play/Pause... buttons ?

How about colour buttons ?

Anyway, here is a test remote https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=11772 using C2011 as the code. What I have done is map all the unused codes to the buttons. So please install it and test EVERY button, including all 15 Custom buttons (right-click on the Remote Image) and see if any of them action the missing functions.

Ok, managed to get more buttons from Qingdau / Goodmans remotes as well as the new Test remote.
Here is a photo of the Manta actual remote:
http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/1374/mantadvbt01.jpg

Below are my findings (updated mappings):

Quingdau Cable TV * ==> Manta DVB T01
Power on/off ==> Favorites
Volume Down (TV?) (upper left corner) ==> 9
Down arrow (upper left corner) ==> 6
Up arrow (upper left corner) ==> NEXT
Chinese button under Power ==> 5
Chinese button next to down arrow (upper right) ==> 8
Cursor Up (chinese) ==> Stop
Chinese button right to up arrow ==> Repeat
Chinese button over P+, P- button ==> Schedule
Chinese button over V+, V- button ==> Time Shift
Green Center Chinese button ==> OK
Chinese button under P+, P- button ==> 4
2 ==> FFW
3 ==> GOTO
4 ==> PREVIOUS
5 ==> 0
6 ==> 7
7 ==> 1
8 ==> 2
9 ==> 3
# ==> Down arrow
TAB ==> Menu
Chinese button on the right to TAB ==> Last
Blue button ==> Right arrow
Yellow button ==> Mute
Green button ==> Left arrow
Red button ==> Exit

* Use this photo to get an accurate listing of the Qingdau keys (updated):
http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/6034 ... etvmap.png

Goodmans GDB18FVZS2 ==> Manta DVB T01
0 ==> Down arrow
Channel - ==> Up arrow
1 ==> Subtitle language
2 ==> Audio language
3 ==> Teletext
4 ==> Exit
5 ==> TV / Radio?
6 ==> Menu or Middle button
7 ==> OK
Channel Λ ==> Program Guide
Channel V ==> Up arrow
Yellow ==> FFW
Blue ==> PREV
Cursor Down ==> Up
Menu ==> Stop
8 ==> Recall
Guide ==> Play

and the Test remote:

Test Remote ==> Manta
1 ==> Info
Power On/Off ==> Power On/Off
5 ==> Stop
LAST ==> NEXT >>|
Channel Up ==> FFW
Channel Down ==> PREV |<<
4 ==> Repeat
9 ==> REW

I believe we got most of them. I don't care for the Rest of the keys we didn't find (color buttons, Channel +/-, Rec, Pause)
I wasn't able to locate the 15 custom buttons in the remote. I tried right clicking on the remote of the web interface only as I don't have access to the actual app (at least right now) :oops:

Is the Pause the same as Play ? That often happens.

Surprised you don't see a popup when you right-click. If there is a Menu button at the top of the remote try tapping that.

So the first draft is at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=11772

It's ALIVE! :D

Your Manta Draft remote works perfectly on all assigned buttons. Tried the Custom ones as well through the iPhone app. Still not sure why I can't get the custom ones in Web interface. Tried both Chrome & Safari on a Mac - right clicking on the remote does nothing.

Anyway, now that I have a workaround, I will try to get the missing Pause, Chan+/-, color buttons & Rec, using the Test remote you've posted earlier and I will post here the results.

Thanks again for your valuable help! :)

It's because you are on a Mac, Sling products have never worked properly on them. We'll see how you get on, although the actual remote and the test remote cover only the codes between 0-75. They can go up to 255 so we might need to run a few more tests.

Indeed, tried the Custom keys and so far, no luck on getting any new key :cry:
So, bring on the new test remotes! It turns out that I need the rest of the keys after all (especially the color buttons and REC) :twisted:
