Using Logitech Harmony Remote to make a Slingbox .bin file ?

Post by NormMtl »

I have a Logitech Harmony remote. I need to find the .bin file or map keys of my Viore ATB150V Digital TV set top box to upload it to my Slingbox account. I have not found the Viore codes anywhere on JP1 forum. Can I use my Logitech Harmony remote to do it ?

But with Logitech Harmony's running at $100 it would be cheaper to buy an IR Wodget ($35) and use my article you found to do it yourself :)

Yes, as I said, build it on my Harmony remote account and I can install it on mine and use it to learn the codes. I use the standalone software 7.7 (not the myharmony web version), user name is slingboxes and password is password

Thank you, I will do the learning process on my Harmony remote. The Viore set top box is still sold at Walmart and has a free small program guide included. I prefer it to my HDTV for over the air digital channels. I will be happy if I can use it with my Slingbox. :D

I already have 10 remotes and 6 activities or so programmed into my 659 model remote. I don't want to lose my configuration. I am familiar with the web interface but not with the standalone software.

Can you explain the process for me to put the Viore remote code into your Harmony account ?

If you have a 659 then that is the same model as mine, so I can safely access your account and install your setup on my 659.

Just PM me your username and password.

I installed the Harmony 7.7 software yesterday. I just realised it is the software I am used to. I would like to save my remote configuration locally. If I remember well, it was an option, if I click on "Update remote" with the remote unplugged, it would prompt me with a save dialog, am I right ?

Thank you.

Not as far as I know. I have never managed to save a configuration locally.

Norm,

You can save a config that way, but I'm not sure if it can be loaded on someone else's remote. To try, you could send the file to Alan and all he would need to do is double click the file to load it.

I found a way to save locally. It gives a connectivity.ezhex file that I can save locally. When I double click on this file it prompts me to plug the remote to update it.

see this:

Update: the connectivity.ezhex file is only a file to call the Harmony remote software.

I tihnk you will find that file is simply the connection details and that it will then just access your on-line acocunt as normal and update the remote from that. That file contains nothing about your devices.

Still not sure what you are trying to accomplish ? As I said, if you PM me your user ID and password (temporarily change the password if you want) I can get your the BIN file built fairly quickly.

The file for my Viore ATB150V works. I have a question: where on the Slingbox remote can I access the following buttons: Signal, Fav, Fav+, Fav- and - that were on the original remote ?
