Bin codes for Giga Blue HD 800 SE Linux Sat Receiver

Post by hfrank9916 »

Hello, I've googled it and I've done some research in this forum, but I can't find any information on IR codes for the Gigablue 800SE receiver, although this receiver seems to become quite popular (I want to add that I'm very pleased with it's features and picture quality until now).
I've also tried some dreambox codes, but they don't seem to work either. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I think alan might have missed this one, since he was traveling, or he might have answered this elsewhere.

Give this a try.

Hi vickyg2003. Thanks a lot for your help, but I'm afraid it's not the correct bin code for my machine. I was able to load it, but none of the buttons gets any reaction from the gigablue machine. Maybe alan can help once he is back :) (by the way, enjoy your trip to the US)

Not really, other than to confirm that the BIN files provided by Vicky are correct for that machine. I have made a slight change to the download by adding some instructions, with some suggestions as to what to try when the device does not respond. I suggest you try again and read it.

Thanks Alan. I couldn't find the readme(Sat) file.

No, alan, I didn't mean it wasn't there now. I meant that I opened about a dozen bin's looking for it, so I could have included it myself, but couldn't find one. So thanks for updating the file with the correct readme, and now I have a copy on this computer.

Thanks Alan. It works now. However as I didn't get nowhere when using the "Other" option for Satellite (no other tab opened with codes), I used the "Custom" option that was available at this point instead. Then I had to enter the full path (not only "S2000") and use the PL.bin version. The RV.bin opened a remote but I was not able to use any button. Maybe I have a different version?
Anyway it works. Thanks again, Alan and Vicky :D

Did you read the instructions ? If so, which part did not make sense, as your problem seems to be covered in there as I recall ?

I've read the instructions, but I think (and please note that I'm not really an expert user and also that my Slingbox is set up in French) that there are 2 (slight!) differences to the instructions:
* first I could not choose the "other" option in the satellite manufacturer list (this did not open a "model" box), but immediately had to use the "Custom" option in the manufacturer box to get to the screen where I could enter the path to the bin code
* then I had to enter the full path C:\Program Files(x86)\Sling Media\Slingplayer\SBAV\S2000_PL.bin , not only S2000

Not sure also why I had to use the S2000_PL.bin version which I thought to be related to the US market. I first tried with S2000_RV.bin and this also opened a remote, but all buttons were locked, I couldn't even tick them.

As I said, it seems to have worked fine for me now.
Thanks again

I think you are misreading the instructions. There are 2 method of installing, one using the Standalone Desktop player, one using the browser webplayer and they are quite different. I get the impression you are setting up via the web browser but following the instructions for the standalone desktop player ?

Yep, ... I use the web browser. That would explain!
And I'll try to fiddle around with the standalone desktop player method this evening :)
Thanks again for your great service (to vicky too)
