New Inteset / Insignia / Sanyo / Nexus JP1 remote

If you have a new remote that isn't recognized by RMIR, post the details here so we can help create a new RDF for it. Or, if there is an issue with an existing RDF or map, this is the place.

The Insignia from http://www.ebay.com/itm/261097170310?ss ... 1439.l2649 $13.80 works with image for the old one I already had.

Old one
At bottom of keypad:-
NS-RC01G-09
Paper label in battery compartment:-
67100BA1-003-R
A093602

New one
At bottom of keypad:-
NS-RC05A-11
Paper label in battery compartment:-
67100BBW1-016-R
W10-1803
This has a green button with white square around it "AUDYSSEY", just above the Insignia label, and white Input and Menu buttons.
It also has a little foot each side of the back, towards the front end. These stop it rolling off the table every time you put it down!

Good to know, I ordered one only yesterday.

As an aside, I have Audyssey technology in my Onkyo Amp.

No sorry mdavej, NS-RC05A-11 is not backlit.

I like the feet though!

Thanks for starting the thread about Insignia, which was the first I knew about it :D

My remote arrived today. NS-RC05A-11 non-backlit.

Sadly my JP1.3 cable has not yet been delivered.

So until then is there anywhere I can find a list of supported codes for this remote? None of the Philips TV codes listed in a manual I downloaded have worked. My Sony BluRay worked no problem.

What is the model of your Philips Tv please?

Have you ruled out learning the Philips commands with Insignia from the original Philips remote, for the time being?

When you get the cable and Jp1 is up and running you may find a suitable upgrade in the files here.

If not you could construct one using the obc's of the learned commands in Insignia (if necessary with help from the experts)

Regards

The RDF file has the complete list of setup codes; TV code are in group 1. Use this in conjunction with the Lookup Tool (link at the top of this page), searching on Brands. I don't think the Insignia is in the list of remotes, so use the RCA RCRP05B as a substitute.

The Lookup Tool shows 4-digit codes, but my Insignia remote expects 5-digit codes. Do I just pad with a leading zero? Is there some reading or info I've missed?

I should have told you to use the Comcast 1067BX3 JP1.3 remote as the proxy for your Insignia, because it also uses 5 digit setup codes. For TVs, prepend a 1 to the 4 digit code, as listed in the Access Method column.

Do we have the model of your philips TV?

Did we have a matching upgrade in our file section?

Did you do a 991 code search to see if you found anything your remote responded to?

Philips 37PFL9603D

No exact match in the files section.

Tried 991 for 30 presses but no joy.

We have at least 3 upgrades in the PFL series-- they all use RC6 device 0. 10690 or 11744 should work. Be sure to try with the TV on, and see if functions like volume work.

Well there are more than 240 TV setup codes, and you should have found the RC6 code after 39 pushes.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

I've reset the remote and both those codes work.

Thanks for all the information so far :)

My STB is a TVonics so I'll have to wait to upload that. But I'll try my Onkyo and other devices soon.
