Screenplay DX help

Post by meem »

Hi, I am trying to set up a remote control for my Iomega Screenplay DX to use with my sling.

I tried to use an Iomea ScreenPlay Pro bin that I found on this forum but none of the keys worked. Randomly trying other devices hasn't gotten me a single button to work so far.

I have a logitech harmony one that controls the Screenplay DX fine - but I don't know how I could get the settings from that. In the harmony app it is called, Iomega SCREENPLAY DX HD MEDIA PLAYER

thanks in advance if you can help

gah how on earth did I miss that?!

I am new to the site but went through every page of binary files looking for Iomega, also used the forum search to no avail. Sorry about that, I will try now

Thank you! It mostly works - I can't find the functionality of the setup button anywhere though (used to turn subtitles on/off, configure audio streams etc). Aside of that, it is working just great. thanks

Yes I read the instructions.

I don't see any way to access custom remote buttons though.? I access my sling through the slingbox.com website rather than any native app, if that makes a difference?

Quote from the instructions: :D

"... (Tap the Menu button at the top of the remote and select Custom, or on the web Player right-click on the Remote) ...."

thanks again for your help. In the ReadMe(DVR).txt file that I downloaded it didn't have that line. On my mac I cannot get a right click to register on the remote for the additional buttons - I will try again when I'm on a windows machine tomorrow. For now I have just turned global subtitles off, which is fine for 95% of the time. thanks again

Actually I took that quote directly from the Readme(DVR).txt file in the download link so I can assure you it really was there :D

I don't know anything about the Mac, but I am a bit surprised that right-clicking did not work as I have used that Readme file for years and no Mac owner has mentioned that before. I know if you run the standalone desktop player that you can access them through the menu structure so you might want to try that. The download link is DEFINATELY in the instructions

when I used my windows laptop, I got the additional menu via rightclick.

If anybody knows how to get that up on a Mac, that would be great

Does your mac mouse have a right click button? Many Macs have a 1-button mouse. If you have a 1-button mouse, you can still right click by holding the CTRL button down and then clicking the mouse.
