And here's one that fills in much of the info completely missing from that one:

Thanks Rob and cauer29. I thought I had seen that at one time or another, but I couldn't find that.

Cauer29, I THOUGHT it was you that filled me in on learns, but I couldn't remember and couldn't find the link. But that was what I had remembered.

I updated the Useful Remote Links in the General forum with those 2 links so that I can find them again.

Thanks again.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

I eventually applied the Fast Macro patch but I had this patch on the working one too. This is a used remote I got off eBay so cannot say if the previous owner did anything crazy.

Just as a heads up in case someone else runs into this problem I bought another non backlit remote off ebay and that one works without problem. I took all 3 remotes apart and the two that work look like they may have been done by a different manufacturer. The two that worked had this info on the PCB:

Atlas OCAP 2007,
URC-1056BA1-XXX-XXX-XXXX-XXX-R
REV:00 October 04 2007
RoHS

UEI ATLAS OCAP Non-Backlit 2007
w/Samsung 64K,
URC-10566BA1-XX-XXX-XXXX-XXX-R
REV:01 March 21, 2007
RoHS

The remote that I could not get to work had this info on the PCB:

UEI ATLAS DVR OCAP
URC-1056BG1
Dec.2006 REV:04
Feb 27, 2007
