Cisco Z367DVB STB for Taiwan
Dear all,
I looked everywhere and I can't find the code for this model (Cisco Z367DVB STB for Taiwan).
I tried all IR codes for Cisco in slingbox, no luck. Also tried all Ciso codes in "Slingbox Binary Files forum". Even this similar model "Cisco Z368DVB SD Set Top Box" does not work!
Can someone kindly help and let me know where I can find the code or even kindly make one for me?
Thank you so much!

I just read Al Richey's "How to Create Custom Remote Controls and use them on your Slingbox".
If I am creating it by myself, can I buy Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote as my learning device?
I found it is using USB cable instead of JP1.X cable to connect with computer as required in the article? Sorry I am very new to this.
Thanks for help!

No, not for that purpose. The people here that use the Harmony do so just to get the required upgrade from the harmony database and then they learn the buttons FROM the Harmony into their JP1 remote, or they use a JP1 Widget, to get the signal details.
In your case, you don't need the harmony because you have the original remote to learn the signals from. What you need is a JP1 learning remote and cable, or a JP1 Widget. Either would let you learn the signals from your original remote and then give you the signal details. You would then use the signal details to build an upgrade and BIN file for your Slingbox.
If you don't have the skills to build the upgrade yourself, if you were to post the file of learns one of us could build it for you.

I'm on holiday for a few days so can't help, but going back to your original post, was the Custom remote one of mine ? If it was, the instructions state categorically NOT to report back 'it doesn't work', but to answer a list of questions. Check out the one at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7950 and read the instructions in that one.
I'm back on Tuesday

Could you recheck your model number, or give us any other information.
The reason I ask, is that when I google Cisco Z367DVB this thread is the only one result.
Make sure you try this one

Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Dear all,
Thank you for all being so helpful and I felt sorry if I didn't follow the standard procedure to report a problem earlier. I read again the thread for beginers more careful this time.
1. Device: Cisco Z367DVB
2. Type of device: set top box
3. Year: can't find it
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: don't have one
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? No
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? No
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? No
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? No
I tried all the custom remotes for Cisco including the one made by
alanrichey but unfortunately, it did not work. I followed the instruction to upload BIN file and I was successful to the other cablebox Chunghwa telecom MOD205 but not this one.
This is the model I found on Cisco's web page. Cisco made this for Netwave.

If no one can make this BIN file for me, I thought about making it on my own. I wanted to buy the IR widget and emailed Tommy Tyler earlier just to find out his store is currently closed. Is it possible I can buy a similarid widget some where else? Or I should buy a JP1 remote and a cable instead? Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
Thank you!

That would work. You might also want to check with cisco, or your provider comany and see if they can provide youOr I should buy a JP1 remote and a cable instead? Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
1) Pronto Hex
2) IR timing data
3) Or the other models that use the same remote

There's no match for Z367DVB there, the closest I could find was this file for the Z367, but the file doesn't tell us much. Can you find a listing somewhere that at least has a picture of the device itself? Can you buy this device online?yuchinchou wrote:This is the model I found on Cisco's web page. As for making your own upgrade, if you can find a JP1 compatible remote with learning somewhere, you could buy a cable from diygadget.com.

I will write an email to cisco and check if they can provide me:
1) Pronto Hex
2) IR timing data
3) Or the other models that use the same remote
I can't find a picture online and don't know how to post a picture here. But the box looks exactly the same as this one
http://cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ ... 13142A.pdf
I want to buy a RCA RCRP05BR 5 Device Cable from JP1 remote store and the matching cable should be this one "1.2/1.3 (FLASH) USB Cable for Universal Remotes" at DIYGAGET, right? Since I am buying and shipping both from US to Taiwan. Just want to make sure getting the things working together.

I recently got Tommy's IR Widget and followed the instruction from Al Richey to create a BIN file for my cable box. However, it is still not working properly. I think I successfully captured all signals and don't know where I did wrong. I share the files below and could someone kindly help me to find out where needed to be changed.

On the face of it I can't see any errors, but without knowing what you mean by "...not working properly.." it's difficult to comment. Please tell us EXACTLY what the problem is.
I had a look, and although I couldn't find the Z367DVB I did find the Z368DVB but that uses NEC1 64.255 and completely different codes. Seems odd they changed the code so drastically between models.
Also worth noting you are using out-of-date RDF files, although they should still work. I would install the new ones at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7201
