I have been searching the web for a way to make custom remote skin that replaces the generic remote skin. A quick google search yields one such result:
http://placeshiftingenthusiasts.com/how ... in-part-1/
What it says was just to download a zipped skin and unzip them in a folder, then download p.property.xml and add it to the folder. Then zip them altogether and place it in the C:Program Data\Sling Media\SlingPlayer2.0\Remote” folder for windows 7 to replace one of the spr remote that I use in the slingbox. Then I should get a new custom skin.
But when I tried that, I got nothing. The generic remote skin still shows up. Is the method obsolete?
What I am trying to do is to use a bin file for the control of the device while using the custom remote skin instead of the generic remote skin. Specifically, I want to use one of the two remote skin in the japanese "skyperfectv!" in the setup selection for the slingbox pro hd whille suing the skyperfect vt7100 bin found in the hifi remote file section.
Thanks.

Try this thread: http://answers.slingbox.com/thread/8533?tstart=0
But there may be an easier way to tie the BIN file to the correct skin. Is there a selection when you run the Setup that shows the correct skin (even if it doesn't actually work) ?

When you say the correct remote skin, does it mean it looks like exactly the real remote that I have on hand, or does it mean it looks the way I like but does not look exactly like the real one. If the latter, then the one I like is the "SKYPERFECTV!" in the pro hd setup selection. There are two model which are both ok to me. There are japanese on the remote and they are not the UK ones skyperfect TV.
Thanks.
Thanks.
