URC-6011 Questions

Post by Neil P »

I have a string of 8810 remotes and have them all setup nicely with JP1. I have a 15" LCD in the kicthen and it has a nice small remote, would like to add a macro by replacing the remote with a smaller unit say the 6011. From the spreadsheet I see the unit is JP1 capable, but am I right to say its doesnt have the eeprom and needs to be added?

The holes are available as it is, so some soldering can get me going.

Robman can you help out here as to what I need?

Thanks,
Neil P

If you're looking for a ready-to-go URC-6011, I have some for sale at $15 each (plus shipping). If you're looking for the parts, I have those available for $3 shipped. If you're looking for a "how to" document, there's one in the Hardware folder.

Howzat?

In creating Macros, am I correct when I say that the "Macro" label key is M1 in IR?

I don't remember. I didn't even remember that the 6011 had a "macro" key. In case someone knows the answer but has trouble understanding the question (I did at first look):

The RDF file names all the keys based on the 8811. The 6011 has a subset of the 8811's keys, but apparently that key has a different label. Most likely your guess is right.

Every key on the 6011 does correspond to a key of the same meaning (if not exactly the same label) on the 8811.
