NEC extended codes

Post by mattross »

Hello,

I'm having difficulties understanding how to generate Pronto hex codes from a set of discrete infrared codes for my Yamaha AV amplifier.

Using Yamaha's published set of codes I have been able to get the standard NEC codes converted and working successfully, but not the extended ones.

7A-1B (volume +) is NEC device 126. Using MakeHex I have been able to go through all of device 126 and find about fifty working codes. There are more standard codes using different device ids I have not processed yet.

Where I have a problem is with the extended codes, e.g.:

7A-532C (AV1 input)

I do not know how to convert these to Pronto hex. I've tried using 7A as the device and 53 as the subdevice, and also tried 2C as the subdevice. None of the generated extended codes work. Can someone explain how to do the conversion for these extended codes?

Thanks.

Could you point me to the source where you're getting these codes please. I ask because you say that 7A-1B (volume +) is NEC device 126, whereas it looks likke NEC device 122 to me and I think it's really volume-.

Could you also post a sample of pronto hex that works, along with the hex code that you used to generate it.

Sorry you are correct. I'm getting my devices confused as it contains codes for device 122 and 126 and I'm mixing them up.

I have copied the codes from a document uploaded here: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Harmony-R ... d-p/623034

We have a file here that contains a bunch of Yamaha PDF files and it also includes an HTML file that will generate pronto hex for you.

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=9582

Here is the hex code that it generates for "7A 532C"

0000 006D 0022 0002 0155 00AA 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 05ED 0155 0055 0015 0E47

I have loaded a copy of the HTML file here:

Thanks. The bundled HTML file appears to work for the couple of codes I've tried. I found an online version of the same thing some time back but could not get the codes to work.

Now I can crack on through these extended codes. Much appreciated!
