TomintheVan,
Check out this thread , where I asked about getting a longer IR output for a short keypress with the expressVU. The problem is that if you just tap the key, the expressVU doesn't respond. Apparently newer remotes fix this, but older ones like my RS 15-1994 have the problem. In that ...

Well, I'm sorry to report it didn't work for me as expected. i.e. there is no error in code, because it works. But it works exactly as built-in 0775 device. I've tried other values for that byte as well.
I have discovered that the new protocol does not work with the built-in code 0775, but it will ...

Possible to upgrade EEPROM to larger one?
Would it be possible to upgrade the little 2K EEPROM in a RS 15-1994 to a larger one, say 4K or 8K? I know that this would require a special extender and rdf, but other than that, is there any technical reason why it shouldn't work?

need long output for quick keypress - create a new protocol?
I have a Bell ExpressVU (canada) satellite which works with device 0775, like the Dish or Echostar units. The problem is that the satellite receiver is a little slow to respond, so a key has to held down for a certain minimum amount of time (I'd say about 0.5 seconds) for it to work. If you just tap ...

1994 ext. (original ver.-1) and IR4.x problems?
Yesterday I tried to use the original 1994 extender with the latest IR (downloaded yesterday), but could not get it to work. The RDF package does not appear to have an RDF for the original extender (or does it??). Also, the RDF included in the extender package is too old to work with newer versions ...
