I needed to move to the new IR for that, should work out fine.

Why does KM for this device not allow these and other codes to be assigned to certain buttons such as rewind, play, etc. and therefore forcing these machinations?

Is there a way to assign the new code in the upgrade to anything other ...

I think I already did this - I added the DTV button to the KM upgrade based upon the Pioneer Plasma Generic, creating a new upgrade containing that button assigned to an unused button as you suggested. I think I had trouble doing the keymove because I was doing the 994 on the remote itself with the ...

True, I do not use the Extender but perhaps that would simplify matters?

For now, I am confused about key-to-key and a second upgrade. Do you mean to put in another device attached to, say, dev7, identical to this TV upgrade I am working on, and do a conventional keymove from dev7/DTV function to ...

Thanks, worked like a charm, but when using Pioneer Mix, I'm unable to do a keymove within KM ("Key Moves: NOT ALLOWED" and buttons in red italics. Is this an insurmountable barrier to doing a keymove of this dual code to other buttons in KM? How about IR keymove? I tried doing a 994 OFA 6131 remote ...

Trouble decoding IR signal from Pioneer Remote for Plasma TV

I need to keymove the DTV button of my Pioneer Plasma remote on the 6131 PVR. None of the JP1 files have an upgrade with this button. Learning with the 8810 yields, on anaylisis with IR:

# Protocol Device Subdevice OBC Hex CMD EFC
1 Pioneer 170 ----- 211 34 115
2 Pioneer 175 ----- 126 81 006

I see ...

Rob: Is this it?

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3015&highlight=efc

So putting it simplistically and perhaps blatantly inaccurately, there are two ways to do a keymove. One, using the EFC quirkily converted to a two byte hex converted code which allow IR to properly put the ...

Eureka, but why?

I assigned 1758 to the AUD key, did a keymove to VCR, downloaded and examined the keymove. I got $26 as a Hex Cmd. I went back to my own IR definition, changed the keymove to 026 EFC, and it works.

Why though? I though that to do Keymoves within IR, you had to use the "00 xx ...

I do not have it assigned to a button because unfortunately, I have hogged those buttons with 4 TiVos, a TV, and a DVD!

Would a keymove via KeyMaster work? I am not using an upgrade definition here, so I would not at this point know how to go about it there.

Would there be a way to enter the EFC ...

Unsure if this is barking up the wrong tree:

http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-sony/thread.cgi?4020

Apparently the remote mode for the receiver/remote must be set to AV1 for things to work right with OFA remotes, but wouldn't this keep my 6131 from working when entering the 1758 code ...

Keymove in IR problem: Power for Audio receiver from dev 7

Wanting to move the Power function on my receiver (code 1758) onto all 6 of the devices. I placed 1758 into dev7 on my 6131 using IR, and attempted to move the Power function (EFC 71, using the correct 00 xx hex conversion yada yada) from dev7 to the other 6. This works correctly for vol+, vol- but ...

1162 corresponds to my Panasonic VCR/TV combination. What constitutes an advanced code?

Sure enough, using 0162 in the keymove works correctly. I want to try to understand - why did this work? This is one of the Panasonic VCR codes in the 6131 codebook.

Peculiar trouble on 6131 with Power Keymove

Trying to do a simple 6131 remote Power keymove using IR from TV to AUD. The EFC is 024, converted to Hex properly giving "00 18".

Here's what is strange. Put her in TV mode, power on, works fine. Go to AUD, power works fine still as it should after the keymove.

But put her in TV mode, power on ...

I found the simplest of errors. I had used the OBC and not the EFC copied from the KM definition and entered into IR manually with the two byte "00 xx" hex conversion.

I might just start using KM instead of IR to do keymoves, but it does introduce the extra copying step which is

I have ...

I am lookig at my KM Functions, and the Byte2 column is grayed-out so I would say no.

[I confess to ignorance at this point as to what IR is doing with the "Hex Cmd" and "EFC or Key Name" columns which, in the case of Vol+ OBC=003 causes $46 $20 and 154x to appear there.]
Does your TV/0003 ...

Actually I did do the 6131 shuffle, namely take the code, convert to hex, and do the 00 XX construction in IR, so that's not it. I've done that dozens of time for other remotes and it works fine. Strangely the volume pass-thrus to all but the AUD and VCR modes work just fine, and the manual keymoves ...
