ok, it is RC-5, and it's not JU, it's PL. for some reason the ir version says 2.0, which I thought is 1.2.

Anywayz, I did the upgrade and it works now!

If you want to combine all of the functions in a single device, you have to use the RC5/RC6 combo protocol, which uses a very large protocol upgrade (140 bytes) that I believe your Slingbox cannot handle. So if you can live (you may have no choice) without those 6 (likely 7) RC6 functions, you ...

What hardware do you have access to? You really only need two wires to capture the IR signals. If you can open up your PrediWave box front-panel to get access to the IR sensor, then you can hook up two wires to sample the IR signals through your PC's parallel port.

I think my frustration came from after posting this message, no one replies for a long period of time...but either way, I think I will ended up getting the remote. I probably lack of the knowledge to go other way...

I'm not trying to make your life harder, if it can't be done, or you feel you're unwilling to spend too much time if it's not JP1 related, it's fine, but what does it mean it's not JP1 related? I thought the chip used in Slingbox is somewhat JP1 related..or ...

I think their file format might have something to do with their skin. Thanks for the help, I will check if there's a way to get the ccf file,or is there other format that will work with JP1? if not, I will order them. Where do I order?

I finally get a chance to record the buttons.

(0-9, up down left right, enter, info, guide, and menu.

so is there anyway to get this to translate to JP1 and work with slingbox?

I have a pocket pc that has a built-in IR port, and
also both of my laptops(one mac and one pc) comes with IR port, will those work? If so, what is the software that I can use to capture the remote codes?

Since I do have the remote that come with the machine. Is there a anyway to get the IR code? I mean is there any IR hardware and software I can set up to recognize the IR remote code?
