I have a URC-7541, and it is certainly JP1-ready. There was a bit of confusiona while back, as there seem to be two models of 7541 out there, one with a 1k EEPROM and one with a 2K EEPROM, but my understanding was that they were all JP1 capable. Am I wrong?

Also, bear in mind that there are only 4 ...

Do either of you have the JP1-enabled version of the Sky remote?
Unfortunately, no. I have had my Sky remote for less than a week, and my wife wouldnot be too pleased to see me hacking open the case, and soldering in a chip and pins.

And I am a bit lazy.

Jon is not John. I don't mind the confusion. I'm guilty of far worse confusion of who is who in these Forums. I expect Jon also won't be TOO furious at being denied credit
 I have gone back and corrected myself. Sorry, Jon!

Thanks for providing the non-Brits with this thorough description. I don't think my wrists could have taken it.

The other alternative is to use the Skybox as I do and just use the TV as a monitor.

Ahh, the sensible reply. Unfortuantely, it would bug me so much that this doesn't work that eventully I would snap and murder my family and take my own life, leaving no notes, and having eaten my remote.

So.

FWIW one further thought which is maybe "coals to Newcastle" (British humour!!!) but have you checked your connections. To make the changeover automatic you need Sat co-ax cable in to digibox, scart from digibox to TV. co-ax from Digibox out to TV.
I am sure you have this but it may be worth ...

Alas, this is what I have done. Good suggestion, though.

For my Sky Digibox codes I use EFC= 238 for the TV button and EFC= 006 for my help button. This operates any Panasonic TV in conjunction with the digibox. The SKY button is EFC= 014

Ron

Many thanks for this Ron. However these are the EFCs I am using for these buttons (as defined in the RM ...

Help - upgrade for Sky Digibox & URC-7541

Hi!

I needed an upgrade for a sky digibox (I live in Scotland) to use in my URC-7541 (2k version). I found almost all I needed in this thread:

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=694

I loaded the upgrade file for the 8011 into RemoteMaster (and what a great tool that is - it's ...
