Help me extend my ReplayTV 5000 OEM remote? Free DVD for you
I've spent too long fiddling with this, and I haven't gotten too far. I was able to successfully reprogram my RS 15-2116 via JP1 -- but I'd much rather use my RTV remote for basic day-to-day functions. I want to extend the remote to work with a few devices. (2) How do I know for sure if I've successfully upgraded the remote?
(3) The installation readme included with the extender talks about pre-configured ...

I tried that, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I even tried using the discrete ON and OFF codes found here:jamesgammel wrote:have you tried creating your own TV_0054 with KM or RM and seeing if it works any better?

There are several JVC receiver upgrade codes in the Yahoo file store:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/3.%20Device%20Codes/Audio/
Although I didn't see that particular model, I'm sure you will retain all or most of the functionality using another JVC model. And that's from my own experience ...

Re: RS 15-2116 signal transmission length too short
Actually the reverse. Extenders give you more functionality (toadtog, long/short keypresses, delays, etc)
Thanks for the reply. I should have been more clear in my original post - what I meant my losing functionality is that I'd hate to not be able to use macros because of this problem. As far as ...

RS 15-2116 signal transmission length too short
Hello everyone... after spending the better part of yesterday learning about JP1 and setting up my new RS 15-2116 with my equipment, I've hit a very frustrating roadblock. My television (0054 Philips Magnavox) doesn't respond to the power command in macros - which pretty much kills all macros. I ...
