Re: NEC DS8000U VCR
n8nagel, I think you may not have understood what Robman meant. Sometimes a button will have an unexpected side effect. For instance PLAY might also turn on the VCR. I once had a cable box that didn't have a discrete ON command, but CHANNEL UP did turn it on, so my "Discrete On" was a macro that did ...

Re: Site availability
I had a couple of thoughts...
1) I have been enjoying this site for 23 years without paying a penny and I haven't missed many days lurking here even though I don't currently use a JP1 remote. I resist subscriptions as much as possible, but would gladly sign up for supporting this website ...

Robman, the FLIRC device that he has connected to his Raspberry Pi acts like a USB keyboard to the Pi. It does not have a hard coded set of IR commands it receives. For JP1 - pick a device - any device - just not a device that you actually have anywhere in your system. Add that device to your JP1 ...

Visiting this forum is as much a part of my morning routine as brushing my teeth and eating breakfast. Even though I switched to a Harmony 650 6 years ago, I still follow developments here every day. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to my enjoyment over the years that started with my Cinema 7.

I have been watching and reading and I am not sure, but I think the following are correct:
You are trying to control a Vero 4k + device using your URC-7935.
You do not own an actual WDTV Live media player.
If the above assumptions are correct, then I think it's possible that people here ...

The Fire Stick supports a connected USB keyboard as a way to control it. The IReTV receives xbox IR commands and translates them into keystrokes and emulates a USB keyboard at the USB connection to the Fire Stick.
So, this would only work IF the Roku also allows you to connect a USB keyboard AND ...

If you look in our file section, there are 15 different Samsung DVD/VCR combo units listed. Here is the link
Although your specific unit isn't listed, I expect Samsung didn't change things very much.

Glad to hear it worked for you. I was sure it would. My son-in-law used FLIRC with a Fire TV (the box, not the stick) with the FLIRC plugged in directly in the back of the Fire TV. we used a mirror taped behind that to reflect the IR that was arriving from the front. That worked extremely well, but ...

I may be able to supply some information about this, but it is only guessing, since I do not own the inteset IReTV device. I do, however own a FLIRC which does the same thing in is different way. What both of these do is receive a set of IR codes and turn them into a set of USB Keyboard codes. The ...
