Help identifying JP1 cable

How can I tell if I have a Tommy Tyler's JP1.x cable or a Delcom-based JP1 USB interface? I'm using a mac and it doesn't see the remote.

It's actually great to be back. I'll have to re-educate myself. Are there any programs available for a MAC? I had Windows the last time. I could use a windows machine if that's my only choice.

Back after long absence

Hello everyone. My TV has died after 10+ years and I haven't had to make many adjustments to my remote in quite a while. I was wondering what might have changed. What is the latest greatest software?

I feel pretty stupid now. I fixed it. Turns out that I didn't notice that the fast forward button was stuck. Soon as I lifted it out of its containment, everything came back to life. Maybe this can at least help someone else who gets in this situation.

URC-9910 Now what?? see photo

All of a sudden my 9910 will just do this. The batteries are new. Now what? Is there a reset key combination? I love my 9910 and it's been a member of the family for years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your suggestions. As it turns out, it was my laptop that was the problem. I have a 64bit Windows 7 machine and even though I installed the Delcom drivers it wouldn't work. So I tried it on an older PC and was successful.

I'm using RMIR 2.01 with JP1 (EEPROM) USB cable. When I try to use IR (8.03), I get an error saying "open device failed (last error=3). I also get "privileged instruction" errors. Strange thing is, I had no issues downloading to and from the remote just a few days ago. Can a cable just go bad all of ...

This is where I get stuck. I assume I need to create an .rmdu file from my new .rmir file. How do I do that?

Does this not work?

Thank you, I tried it and it seems to work OK, I'll need to run some more tests to be sure.

After testing each button, I find that file does not work. It works for about 25% of the buttons. What's my next ...

Thank you. I hear what you're saying and that's exactly what I thought. I just wanted to get some idea of the difference in memory between learning and building. I actually have my remote 90% there. I'm just having trouble with the newest addition. I have a Magnavox MDR515H/F7 HDD & DVD Player ...
